I want to go back to DAoC but everybody says that TOA messed it up. What did TOA do to make everybody complain?

Everything and nothing, of course.

First of all, TOA was released too soon with too little testing. Many of the encounters were bugged or just much too difficult. Lots of things have been fixed and I think the furor is dying down.

Some people were disappointed because TOA is all PvE. Some people felt, and may still feel, that the Master Level Abilities are overpowering. Some people felt, and may still feel, that some of the Artifacts are overpowering.

No doubt all opinions are valid, but not overwhelminging true. DAOC is still a good game.

Amoung other things it partially destroyed crafting......it is totally biased against the solo player.....

I disagree with it being biased against the solo player. There are plenty of mobs in TOA that can be soloed. True, you cannot solo the Master Level encounters, but that was never intended. There is still a lot of content that can be soloed and is well rewarded. Also, most of the independent quests in TOA are soloable.

I don't believe it impacted crafting as much as originally thought. There is always room for customized equipment, even more so now that there are items that increase skill caps.

If your a solo player you can't get many artifacts. Duo you can, but ToA isn't solo player friendly when you first start off. But ToA is fun and I'm a solo player.

ToA, in my opinion, has taken the game away from the casual gamer. A player must devote a huge chunk of time to complete the Master Levels and find a large group of people to attempt an artifact raid. There are a few encounters that can be done with smaller groups, but they are few and far between.

I agree with this completely, but if you read the release of ToA it wasn't made toward the casual player in mind. Now i do believe some of the ML's need an insane amount of people to finish and some need a full day to complete, even for some of die hard players it is difficult but nice to have a challenge again.Hence that moset of the ML abilites are aoe and benefit more then people just in group it is ment so that the few that do complete the ML's can help the casual player in RvR. The next expansion :Catacombs is geared for the casual player and smaller groups.
