heya me and me brother will start to play DAoC after played over 2years at EQ and we was wondering about a good duo for us if we plan to play on RvsR server ?

My I would like to play Necro or any caster class that can Solo good and do ok in group and duo with my bro.

My bro would prefer a melle like some kind of warrior or paladin.

Stealthers are best if you wanna duo. As I play in Albion I know that minstrel duo rox or minstrel/infiltrator or infil/infil. Dont know much about the best rvr duo in other realms. U MUST have a BB for duo/solo in case you haven't consider that fact.

Hmm. If you want a caster and he wants a melee. That pretty much eliminates two stealthers.

Heres my pick.
Skald and a Shaman. Skald is a melee with runspeed, damage add and a lot more stuff. Shaman is a healer type that can buff and has endurance regen. He can also get in there to melee, since the Skald will provide the damage add.

If you are going with one melee type, you generally want two, so you can utilize a damage add (without a damage add things go slowly).
Paladin has one as well as a heal chant. Two palys could work.
Paly and friar are a great duo, though the friar is more monk type that can heal and self buff. But they work well together.

If you definately want a caster then I think that Theurgist is the best for you. They have the damage add spell, so you can group with a Paly or Friar. Theurgists come in three flavors, all having pets. You probably want to go Air to start to a great DD and haste for your tank. The damage add is baseline in earth spec, so some variance, but overall it works well. Eventually you can get the Pulsing Blade Turn and you'll be loved by groups.
For albion - Theurgist and Friar or Paly.

Hibernia is even harder. Damage add is in the Enchantment spec of the Enchanter class. Not that great. There arent any healer type tanks.
You best bet is a Warden. He can melee passibly. Heal and buff acceptably. He does get the PBT, runspeed, self endurance regen, damage add. A pair of these guys work really well, but if you want a more caster oriented guy (that works well together) you should go Druid, Bard or Mentalist. Druid is the best healer in the realm. Bard is basically a caster in armor that can swing a sword. Runspeed, Mana regen, Endurance regen, Healing, Mez, Buffs.
Bard is THE most diverse class in the game (along with Minstrel). They are awesome. Plus if you group the Warden and the Bard, the Bard can actually melee a bit with the Warden Damage Add. (though dont waste any spec pts on weapons).
Mentalist is more of a caster, so no meleeing, but they have power regen (that you will need for the PBT of the Warden) as well as a Heal over time and Heal spells in their Mind spec. The Mentalist can DOT the mob, HOT on the Warden, and heal the Warden if necessary. They also get single target mez for add. And depending on how you spec you could charm and nuke for a buttload. Mentalist (along with Sorcerer) is the most diverse caster in the game. Also the this duo doesnt overlap as much as the Warden/Bard.

So:
Skald/Shaman in Midgard
Theurgist/Friar or Paly in Albion
Warden/Mentalist in Hibernia

Keep in mind, DAOC isnt like EQ. You spend pts in skills, so you dont get it all just by leveling.
Skald should go full instruments, rest into weapon. Shaman full Aug, Theurgist varies, Friar split btw enhance and staff, Paly full chants rest in weapon, Warden full enhance rest in weapon, Mentalist full mana.
