Unless I am complete moron, I dont see how some people level so quickly...
I am a good game player, pick up on things quickly and after a month and a few days still only a level 12.
I speak to people who have been on only a month and they are level 30-40 and up and their answer is they group.
A lot of groups I find are cliquey, not all, but some and dont want to give you the time of day.
I guess if you sit in front of your computer all day and night it is possible.
What do you suggest for a Therguist?

thanks to all

1 answer.

Kill tasks!

Go up to some guards and type /task. If that guard doesn't have anything for you at that time, speak to another until you've found the right guard for your particular level.

In turn, the guard will ask you to go kill a specific mob in that zone. The experience gained from 1 task is incredible.

Rinse, repeat.

It's a great method till lvl 20.

Happy hunting

i find a good method is getting power leveled from a necro. or if u want to get 50 really fast make your own necro. then u will lvl fast. this class is very good because they mana drain. this means when u hit the mob u get mana. so u can chain the mobs and kill yellows/oranges with out stoping. best if u find low resiest mobs tho. then there easiar to kill. and this chars also are very good solo so u dont ever have to find a grp.

Kill tasks will get you to level 20 easily enough. Talk to any NAMED guard and SAY task. Go kill what he tells you and go back to him. When you finish the tasks for your level (you can do a number of tasks equivalent to your level), you'll have a good idea where to hunt to finish off the level.

If you are having a hard time soloing, chances are you have spread yourself too thin on your spell line specialization. One spell line should be at least 2/3 your level, so if you are level 12, at least one line should be specialized to 8.

I cannot stress enough for any class that in order to be effective either solo or grouping, you must concentrate your efforts. If you are a fighter, you must concentrate on one type of weapon or damage type. If you are a caster, you must concentrate on one spell line. If you are a hybrid, you must decide which skills you want to excel in.

Pure casters are the hardest because you only get 1 spec point per level. Therefore, you have little room to diversify before level 40 (when you begin to get half-level spec points).

If you haven't yet, check out the various guides on theurgists available either here or at classesofcamelot.com.

If you've gimped your character by spreading your spec points around, it's definitely not too late to start over. I would recommend starting a new theurgist and do it right. You may not want to delete your present character right away, but after you see the difference between the two, I don't think you'll want to invest the time to try to catch him up.

I went from 3 to 9 last night with my cleric. Hooked up with a random lvl 5 scout when I was 3 and he got to 9 too. Just kept the Looking for player tag up and dragged people through mithra. Was TONS of fun and awesome exp/loot.

It isn't that hard 8)

My friend and I levelled a druid from 30-42 in the laste 3 days in the pit of CM :D

Some people use higher level toons that can kill more mobs faster, to level lower level ones.

Your "month" might consist of 1 hr a night of playing. Where their month might be 8 hrs.
For a Theurgist, find a minstrel or sorcerer. The power regen helps tons. Or group with another Theurgist or Necromancer so you can both focus on spirit vulnerable mobs. Air spec levels quicker than Earth or Ice, since you dont need to rely on mana heavy pets as much (and the Spirit based DD). Taking on an orange is easy with two DDers. You also want to kill a mob before you go below 50% of your mana, as it regens much slower below that level. Focus on orange mobs, as they resist less. One or two pets, and dd the rest.
Theurgists level really fast though. Check daoc.catacombs.com for spirit vulnerable mobs, or get a flashlink membership and check out daocspoilers.com (its bestiary includes shrouded isles). 30% more damage is huge.

Join a guild! We had a bard join ours and she made 50 in 6 weeks.

Kept passing her up to the next lvl toon. Heck she made 50 before I did :\. I've been playing for over a year.

On the other hand I am sure you have to take SOME of the levelling achievements with not only a grain of salt but a whole barrel full......

You have some good advice early on in this thread, specialise, do kill tasks, group when you can.

Wow, so you just basically missed some of the finer points of the game. For you, I guess, it is 'get to level 50 as fast as you can, then RvR constantly', and I am not saying that is in anyway a bad thing(because I actually woulndt mind getting PL'd that much), but for some people, it is the thought of being something really great, and paying in that way. That is the glory of role-playing games.

People who get powerleveled are usually the people who don't know how to play the game properly and use their character properly. That means they don't contribute to a group, because they don't know their role.

If your frustrated, don't be. The level grind is long and tedius. Thats what makes it so much better when your each 50. You just have to forget about the xp bar and just play, don't worry about it or set goals, just have a good time.

If you ever want to roll a Hibernian character let me know, we do regular guildie groups.
