Yes, there's a check box in your FFXI Config menu. Check your start menu and Program files in the PlayOnline folder.

You can make the graphics look much, much better than what the configuration tool allows by tweaking your registry settings. An excellent guide can be found here:

Also, the windowed mode that FFXI currently uses makes gameplay unresponsive. It was designed using dx10 technology that would allow SE to put a Vista logo on the box, not with actual gameplay in mind. There's a better one that can be found here:
