Well I had to dip my toe in the FFXI Forum out of curiosity.

True, there are those among Clan McAsylum who stereotype FFXIers as puerile nerds who aspire to being the spotty guy in the corner cubicle who has memorised the entire telepays of "Star Wars Generations" to such an extent that his Acne spells Klingon proverbs across his forehead.

Some of those Arsylumites who play other MMORPGs merely feel an innate arrogance towards any game that isn't their own.

One or two even have an objective view that whichever game floats your boat has to be OK.

Me, I simply sit by my log fire, a flagon of ale and a small lobotomised Giraffe by my side, tapping out inanities into a keyboard and fighting off cyber-stalkers with a shi[/i]tty stick.

My initial observations:

One or two of you appear to have opposable thumbs, a sense of irony, a grasp of the English (or, rather, American) language and a tendency for wit.

The majority however give a clear impression of pre-pubescent angst, a failed education and a rather disconcerting smell of Cheese String.

I have to go now. Nurse has prepared a poultice that will lose its effect unless administered before the waxing of the moon.

And yes, I really am that fu[i]cking bored.

Hmmm, that might explain the recent outburst towards me in the Asylum for my being an "FFXI sympathizer" and otherwise making an honest mistake concerning a thread dealing with "female parts;" in which one of them proceeded to become the "forum quality control officer" and throwing a fit about it. But it's all ok now, because they get laid. Having sex being to them a huge accomplishment comparible to winning the super bowl, apparantly.

I won't berate the entire forum for the misactions of one or two people. There are a lot of good posts and discussions by the very same people... until they decide to flaunt their sexuality like a couple of prepubescent teenagers it becomes clear that they too are only human and have no room judging us for playing an MMO.

Explain how anyone can "sound" anything in writing, then try again.
