Fastest DeathFollow

Because you might get a laugh out of it, and so you whm and rdm's might think ahead in the future, I shall recount to you what may very likely be the fastest death in FFXI history.

I was playing in Quifim last night, on the Tower side, and as it must, night fell. So its dark, and our party did what every party pretty much does, we ran pell mell for the tower so we could huddle like frightened rabbits next to the zone. Well we sit there, our thief pulling clippers to us so the time wasnt wasted and all in all things were going well. Until of course the required train of wights and banshee's come charging in to be dropped at our doorstep. The wonderful thing is, this happens just as the clipper gets to us, so we cant just finish it off and move. No, we have to fight the bloody thing and pray the wights dont turn on us. WEll they do. Two wights later everyone but me has managed to zone and im staring down at my own dead body. Thats alright, I dont mind, the mages made it to safty and hell, thats what warriors are for right?

Fortunatly for me, a red mage in full artifact armor happens to be right there and she's raising me. Im thinking great. How can this be better? Zero down time! This is the life. I should always fight near raisers.

I click to accept, and watch my body float up into the air, then start back down just as a wight strolls right through my screen. Before my feet hit the ground from the raise, im dead. AGAIN! That same bloody wight was still wandering around looking for more idiots to maim and it found me, newly risen with only a handful of hps. I mean before my feet hit the ground from the raise im flat on my back. ARGH!!!! You wanna talk about frustrating? Thats bloody frustrating. I got a half dozen or more tells from people telling me how bad my luck was (like I need to know) and several apologies from the red mage. The red mage raised me again, and this time, before my feet hit the ground, I was hit with two CureII's and a CureIII. I guess everyone took pity on me and wanted to make sure it didnt happen again.

Anyways, I think it must have the record for the fastest death in the history of the game, since I doubt I was ever actually alive. It was more funny than anything and heck, if a warrior cant deal with death he's in the wrong buisness. So it didnt bother me, but its definatly something to mention to you guy's that do raises. Watch the field when your raising, or you might be doing more damage than good. Raises apparently attract Undead and when your freshly raised, you cant handle them. Laugh and Learn.

You'd think someone in AF would be a bit smarter than that...

I was level 14 and wandering around the palace in San d'Oria. I went into the prison and found some enterance to a sewer. I had no sooner than zoned in that I was hit for 376 dmg from some slime creature. Ouchies!

I managed to do the San D one too. I was thinking....How bad could it be in the dungeon....what the hell I'll check it out. Then as soon as I landed I was hit for 256 dmg ran about 2 feet and got hit gain for 256 and was down on the ground. When i got to look at them they were leach type monsters. needless to say i will not be going there for a little while. lol

Ugh your story reminds me of the other day in Gusgen, I was ready to start crying. I'm killing ghouls for over an hour trying to get this guy a skull when I get a message asking for raises in another tunnel (I had told them to let me know if they needed help).

So I get there and raise the first guy and he runs off to the entrance to heal up. I raise the second guy and usually I'm really good about checking for mobs but this time I guess I was a bit lazy and didn't look 360 degrees. So as soon as I raise him he gets cracked by a ghoul and dies and to my complete horror that DEWWWWW delevel noise sounds. So I med up, kill the nearby ghoul and raise him again and heal him. .0003 seconds after I heal him a ghoul spawns not two feet away. I try to engage it before it can hit him but before I can engage it kills him again and DEWWWWW he delevels YET AGAIN. I was yelling out nooooooo at home because I was so sorry and so sad. I killed everything around him and raised him then cleared everything on the way to the entrance for him. I kept telling him how sorry I was and luckily he was cool and said things like that happen. I FELT SO BAD!! ; ;

on my way to the glaciers for the smn quest, i died 3 times in the cave, my ally died 6 or 7 times, and the lvl 50 blm 25 whm super *** guy had to tractor us thruogh the cave : D

Haha Pikko that exact same thing happen to me in Qufim.

I was at qufim and our puller pulls a giant with a pet leech. Well along with the giant his pet leech there was also 5 other leeches that linked. We attempt to zone but there is a banshee and 2 wights at the entrance. I provoked the banshee to save the others and of course died. I just turned lvl23 at the time.

A few seconds after I die a very nice guy I meet earlier decides to raise me. The instant I'm raise I get hit by the wight. And de-level. The whm heals up and attempts to raise me again and says "zone right after I raise you." I'm thinking wow what a nice guy! I zone and start to heal up and then there is a group screaming ZONE! There are already like 8 people in the tower. Everyone is healing. Then all of a sudden these bats attack me and I de-level again. The whm raises me again and hits me with CureII, then politely goes on. Couldn't get any worse right? Well after being completely healed I head outside since it was after 4 so no undead. Right after I zone and get smacked by a giant by it's power attack which leaves me with 110hp. I zone back in the tower and guess what the bats were back. I get hit for 90 and zone again. The giant is still there and I get hit by it again. Died again and de-leveled again. After that I just quietly logged off and called it a night.

That was the absolute worst experience I've ever had.

i was in Palborough Mines when one of my party members hit this creature from this gate we thought it was no big deal he left gatherd his aggro buddies and i died then right after i got raised we started atacking another one (sorry dont know there names) then 5 came up right behind us we ran to the boat to the other mines i pulled the switch for the boat be4 i died and the boat left with out me iwas floating in the water with the monsters trying to attack me a couple seconds later i land in the mines get up walk into the mines and drope dead right there
