Anyone got a good reliable safe link for downloading sound files which can be used as EQ ringtones? I found a site a few years ago, downloaded and installed a bunch on my IPhone and then I upgraded the phone and lost all the ringtones. I couldn't find my downloaded files nor can I now found that old site.

Anyone have a link they can recommend?

Failing that, I've been digging thru the EQ files looking for sounds I'd like to use. Like the music you hear when you first approach Kaladim, the "fight" music, the death music, etc. But I can't seem to locate those in the "sounds" file in the EQ directory. I know there used to be files named after Kaladim, Kellethin, Felwithe, etc. which had the music specific to those cities. Can't seem to find these anymore!

I'm sick of my Iphone's sounds being the same as everyone else! Smiley: banghead

I found an old thread from Druid's Grove which mentions an Angelfire link for the old music files (in MIDI format).

The link is still active, but I can't promise that it's virus-free. My virus-checker didn't find any problems with the ZIP file, but given the lackluster success rate of antivirus software, that's no guarantee.

The Druid's Grove discussion is here: http://www.thedruidsgrove.org/archive/eq/t-10317.html

The Angelfire link is here: http://www.angelfire.com/games5/everquest1oh/EQ_midi.zip

Previously, I had tried to locate the music directory for Legends of Norrath (which uses a small selection of Everquest zone music files) in the hope of augmenting the selection so that it's not quite as repetitive. I never did track it down, though.

Thanks for the link. Actually I also found my own music files on an old backup drive. I still have to recover them and see if they work.

Ever hear of virustotal.com? You can upload any file (of reasonable size) to that site and they scan it with over 50 different anti-virus and anti-malware programs. If the file comes back clean across the board you can be reasonably certain it IS safe. Of course, nothing is guaranteed! But the idea is malware which sneaks past one anti-virus program is not likely to sneak past 50+ of them.

I hadn't heard of that one. That's pretty cool.
