I keep reading that mobs that can DT instantly zap you for 100,000 hp and is unresistable. I'm a 94 ranger camping an epic piece for my 51 necromancer in Plane of Fear. I have 75,0000 hps self buffed and when I've taken the DTs in this zone I get hit for 65,000 and my healer merc heals me back to full. Did the almighty DT get nerfed? Can I survive DTs in other zones like PoSky? Just how much damage does DT do these days?

Spell Shielding % (upto 35%) probably took care of the missing part.

Huh. I never knew that DT was technically survivable now. Just assumed that it auto-killed you no matter how many hps you have. Interesting...

One of the bestiary threads I was reading lately talked about an old mob (Luclin era I believe) that still does the old lower damage version of DT. I can't confirm this, nor even recall which thread it was. It was plausible as the mob in question didn't seem that "big of a deal" to require that being adjusted.

I know that they kept upping the damage as people's hps kept increasing. But I'd just assumed that at some point they got smart and fixed it to be an auto-kill rather than do some fixed amount of damage. Given that the number of ways to avoid taking damage from stuff has increased dramatically over time, it's just surprising that they haven't done this. Makes me wonder if they're just planning on letting DT die on the vine or something, or if they'll bump it again at some point in the future.

I think you are referring to Shei Vinitras...he has a 20K death touch...also drops the +15 tailoring mod shears.

Monk's have been able to survive the death touch for a long while now. Although, if you are willing to gamble a bit most dps classes could probably kill CT before he even get's to cast death touch.
