https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/skills.html is the original page, but it's no longer linked anywhere. I saved it years ago, and keep on my wiki page for reference. It's like alot of no longer used features, like class forums for EQ1 aren't suppose to be used either, but people manage to find them, and still use them, despite the many bugs that haven't been attended to in years.

One strange thing is while I'm up to 258 in Begging working off a Soulbinder even on success I have yet to see one thin copper of handouts. I don't care, really, but it's strange. Maybe the same reason Soulbinders won't eventually attack you for begging, they also won't ever give you anything. Which is perfectly fine with me since I just want the skillups.

The old posts under this topic in allakhazam indicate obtaining an occasional gold or silver piece. I'm wondering if this has been nerfed, making this skill totally useless, probably the MOST useless, having no purpose other than one or two very old quests. I'm up to 290 and have yet to obtain anything, at least from a Soulbinder. Maybe begging off NPCs produces results on rare occasion but I also did some of this leveling meleeing treants in Loping Plains (working on H2H at same time, which did raise nicely) and got nothing from them either---not even a splinter!

I've never killed a soulbinder, but I have killed the vermin exterminators, and they have 0 loot and is probably the same for the soulbinder, since they're 1st level. Begging works off the loot table for the mob, which from how I understand it, is generated when the mob is spawned. Some debate over how it works on nameds and/or higher value items now, as they implemented something to prohibit prescanning with illegal software the generated loot table on nameds and high value mobs, non-trash loot to avoid bots picking off high value loot.

I've gotten mostly coin, but occasional weapon from general mobs (mostly remember bandits and dervishes which generally have descent amount of coins and occasional item).

Oops I think I was thinking of Pick Pocketing for items. Maybe once from a low level froglok did I get an item, but it would of been an almost worthless item like inexpensive rune or old world spell component or herb or something less than 1pp for sure.

Yes loot for begging seemed particularly rare, although I remember one my first begging a merchant in Kelethin was successful and I got a copper, but a few more tries, and she killed me, back when merchants would attack and could be attacked. :P
