Paying with station cash?Follow

#1 Oct 22 2012 at 10:55 PM Rating: Decent
Is it still possible to subscribe via station cash if the code is unredeemed? I read somewhere you could but not exactly what to do. Also, is it possible to pay for expansions this way?

A more recent official response at http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/10/22/soe-live-2012-dave-georgeson-on-the-business-side-of-the-eq-fra/ says the same, no more SC purchasing of game time. They went to Krono (See http://eq.zam.com/wiki/Krono for details here also).

Most people figured as much when you could get 1500+500SC doubled to buy a year for basically $45 real money and still have several thousand SC to spend, or $30 if you had very much SC built up. That's less than a third of their old best rate. EDIT: Tripled at one time so a whole year for $15 + extra SC.

EDIT 2: Just in case they ever bring it back, which is highly unlikely. You bought the game time in the marketplace in-game with the SC.

I specified unclaimed because I knew the station cash option was removed. Someone said you could apply codes towards gold membership (so I assume you'd get 500 sc + membership for a 20 dollar code, if they're right).

Yes. A Game Card can be used to buy game time or station cash. http://www.everquest.com/shop sign in, click on upgrade to gold, enter the game card info. Unclaimed sounded like you bought the SC just hadn't used it to buy something else from the marketplace, the way it was worded. Sorry for the mistake.

Yther, you don't even need to do that.

Sign into your account on the EQ site and the second from the bottom option is 'Enter Activation Code'. Put the game card number in there and it takes you right to the screen where you decide whether to apply it as Station Cash or for game time.

/shrug I don't see any data entry on everquest.com when I sign in, so I click Shop (same link as I posted), then Upgrade (didn't post it, 'cause you have to be signed in) and I see it. Maybe a link to where it appears like that automatically?

From EverQuest.com, top right of the screen (Sign In or Join Free), you get this page when you click 'Sign In'

When you sign in there, then click your username (same spot where the 'Sign In or Join Free' link was), you get the account management screen. Second from the bottom is 'Enter Activation Code'.

Now, given the number of accounts I have, I have the sign-in screen bookmarked so I just hit it in my links bar in Chrome and it takes me right to the sign-in screen.

I don't. I automatically go back to the everquest.com page but I'm logged in most of the time in the forum. Probably why I didn't see it.
