Most definately a rogue;) Lots of DPS, best invis in the game which means you can go just about everywhere without being seen. They are also the only ones that can make poison (unless soe has changed that). But there are 2 poisons that can be used by everyone, so it's a good plat maker.

What's fun is different for everyone. What do you like to do (swing swords, cast heals, stand back and nuke?) Do you prefer to play alone or try to get a group? Do you intend to raid (raid casually, or high end?)

I prefer to try and find a group but I hardly ever get one. I intend to raid as a higher level, and I like to swing some swords about and have fun. Smiley: smile

Bards are a fun class to play. Pretty much a jack of all trades.

So you enjoy DPS and melee.

Ranger -- Quite good DPS from these. They have quite a bit of utility. Can range fight with arrows or get up in the mobs face with weapons. The only down side, if you want to raid, is there are a TON of them. So depending on your servers raid scene, you may find a hard time getting a slot.

Rogue -- Extremely good DPS. Can go just about anywhere and they do have some utility for pulling with traps. Poison making is pretty nice as well. Beyond stabbing these and the occasional pulling there isn't much more they can do though. Raid guilds will probably love to have you.

Berserker -- Not many play zerkers from what I have seen, but they are one of the top melee DPS classes and raid guilds love them. Not much utility, but if you enjoy the big DPS #'s then you should enjoy this class.

Monk -- One of the best pulling classes in game and FD lets them go just about anywhere. The DPS is defintely not the top end, but they do respectable. While no swords, they h2h is basically the same thing.

Beastlord -- Takes a while to get into the Beastlord, but they do nice DPS eventually and have quite a bit of utility between the buffs and pets. Some of their newer buffs are highly sought after so Raid guilds will probably let you in easier.

You should enjoy any of those, pick one and try it out.

Gee, if your priority is "swinging a sword" you need to be looking at warrior, shadowknight or paladin. You really should try better to describe what your interests are in terms of playing a character in this genre. Honestly it's hard to advise intelligently with this little to go on.

My standard advice in this situation is to roll and play various classes for a bit to get a "feel" for each class. Considering the amount of time you need to commit to REALLY level up and deck out a superior toon, it's well worth investing a few hours in several different classes to experience each for yourself since personal experience always trumps any amount of advice, however well-meant and sincere.

Gnome warrior.

Roleplay as evil (i.e., kill good city npcs).

This is the definition of fun.

You would be evil too if you had to fear every boot of Norrath for the sheer fact that you may punted.

i play shaman since 1999 and can't play another toon as ""main""...................
they heal great (specially at high level ) , got good dot's , MANA not an issue, can chain cast np ,
good buffs , unity line, growth (add more hp than cleric + druid one combined , and stack (5min + duration tho ), regen, lion proc (1200+ proc and proc a lot ). overtime heal (another Hot who stack with counterbias slow ), aa slow , aa spirit of cheetah run speed , instant FD ring (rechargeable ),
if you died and got a rez (oom ) , you still can chain cast for almost 5 min (mana free from an aa (35 min refresh ).
and the list goes on ...............................

btw, i got other high level alts, with many aa's ;
lv 95 mages (2 ), druid lv 95 , monk lv 95 ,cleric lv 95 ,enchanter lv 95, necro lv 91 , but no one give me the fun the shaman class give..................

depend if you like casters or not,if i had only one account :
shaman would be my caster choice.
melee would maybe go with shadownight.

i really like the shaman class, but at the lower level they are not so powerfull, they get better at higher levels.

Magician, especially with a Healer merc, can do anything. To me, that flexibility is "fun."

I had a regular group in House of Thule xpac but I could also easily kill named with just my pet and merc in group gear when nobody I knew was online.

A Bard has skills from almost every other class rolled into one so they are very fun but take quite a bit of skill to play.

If fun for you is just plain hurting things then a Wizard or Rogue. Very low stress in groups because all you will be asked to do is damage.

Personally, I don't think tanks Warrior, Shadow Knight or Paladin or main healers like Clerics are fun because you have so much responsibility to keep your group alive. It's like going to work to support your family. Of course if you like "saving the day" that will be fun.

Just my opinions!

i agree MAGE rock hard also, i prefer shaman as caster but my mage alts rock.
you got good tanking via pet,,pulling via coh and dps .............

shaman are weak at low level imo and not that fun like they can be at higher levels.
