Friday: FTP didn't seem to be doing anything on my regular server (FV) so I decided to check out Vox. Couldn't get into the 2nd stage (main part) of the tutorial my first few character rolls so I tried boxing 2 new half elves in Gfay. Remembered quickly why I don't like boxing. Rolled a druid (previous high in this class was level 22) and managed to get into Gloomindeep. Turns out the zone had 70+ players and was booting mercs to get under the 100-cap for the zone. Revisions to the tutorial are slick and do make it more helpful if you were truly new. Managed to get to level 10 despite all the competition causing choke-points in the quests.

Saturday: Gained momemtum on the druid. Did Crescent Reach, decided it was too busy so did Paludal (not too busy, but 2 full groups running) soloed until 16 then ended up in a bandit group till 19. Logged for the afternoon (RL called). Did CR again in the evening but it was too busy so I went to Blightfire. Killed a few gnolls to get 20, then hit the treants and mushrooms hard, by late 20s I was killing wasps and poking my head into Stonehive. Great xp in stonehive but hard to get small enough pulls. Needed inside for max xp but that was camped so I went to Goru'Kar mesa. Cherry-picked snakes in Mesa (wolves like me, bears were camped) and got to 40 thanks in part to the free xp pot and a /claim xp pot I had sitting there.

Sunday: mustered about 3 hours of play split between super-early and later in the evening. Killed some harpies and the harder spiders in Mesa. Ducked into blackfeather Roost at 42. Everything was red (and Fenith wouldn't properly give me the key tasks). Left my puma pals alone, killed bears and eventually snakes before stopping at level 48. Got to buff a level 10 warrior with "the works" right before I logged and he was super-excited that I refused his tip --which was the main reason I decided to go druid on the new server, there will be lower level people I can drive-by buff.

I'm actually going to stop at 55 to aa and gear up.

I loaded my lower level chanter for some Gloomingdeep action on Vulak. Completed the quests there pretty quickly (but he was level 8 going in) and the gear is better than the old newbie gear. I also made a friend.

Was playing the shaman for a bit. Couldn't find a great place to set up, so I wasn in Chardok killing at the entrance. Finally hit 58 and scribed the spells I was carrying with me. Speaking of spells, the PoK spell merchants have a vastly expanded inventory (even on the TLP). That will help everyone to get those hard to find spells. I even got RGC.

Didn't do much with regards to F2P. I have a 3rd account that's quite old, so I logged it in and checked it out. It was my daughter's account back when she used to play (some 8ish years ago.) She had 3 characters, all Vah Shir. Two beastlords and a shaman. /sigh. Guess I'll have to grab an unlocker for that one if I want to use another class.

Overall, I'd say the F2P was somewhat successful. The prestige augment issue needs to be addressed, but other than that, it seems to have gone well.

Friday: I was super excited to try out the Hero's Journey when the servers came up but after seeing it was left a little nonplussed. I found the tents and Anniversary vendors in PoK, nearly took some 13th Anniversary raid quest before realizing it wasn't for me to solo.

0 for 2 at this point.

So feeling less thrilled, I did the new tutorials and that took me an entire afternoon to finish. But when I did, I had a new augment, a new 10 slot bag, and a house. I easily spent the rest of the evening messing around with the housing system (new to me since I never had those expansions).

Sunday I dragged my old trader out, kicking and screaming. I haven't had him set up in months and his inventory is full. Full of spells. Spells that I assume are now vendor sold. I do know one thing though... these spells may be vendor sold, but nothing in the game is going to point someone to that vendor, and half of the player base is still going to go to the bazaar for spells. So I set my poor trader up and start the day selling spells. And they sell... and sell. Also selling extremely well are Franklin Teek's task rewards, the cloaks, shoulders, and belts. All in all a good weekend.

Looking forward to finding some of the solo anniversary tasks/quests this coming week.

Only got a chance to play Sunday night. Took my warrior to Sunderock Springs to grind out some aa's solo. After the first kill I get a tell asking if I wanted some company. Feeling nice I sent them an invite and had a young zerker join me. The aa xp slowed some but his reg xp must have been nice. We were probably there an 1.5 hours and he gained 4 levels, from 59 to 63. I ended up with 8 or 9 aa's so all was good and I had a good time grouping with him. Now I know where to take my monk for a quick power level it seems.

Came back after 2 years. Logged in to all 7 of my accounts and moved stuff around, saw all the equipment I had yellowed out because of "bad" augs...Smiley: smile, and realized I still had a guild active on FV.
Was good to be back. Took awhile to remember how to play. Had a level 1 froglok wiz, so took him to 5 just killing stuff in Toxilla. Love how they flip when you cast...Smiley: lol
Then hopped on my Erudite Necro and headed to the Warrens. Other than a level 75 Sk running through just killing everything there ( not sure why, may have been a faction issue ) I got in there at barely 15 and left at 19...in a little under and hour. Decided that it was getting late and camped out at the king. Hopefully tonight the SK will be gone and I can kill that sucker...Smiley: grin
The FTP definitely brought me back. Not having a share bank and less storage space is a pain, but I can use the guild bank to swap stuff around. I am definitely gonna stay awhile... I started the game when Vallon Zek opened in 99, and last night I remembered why this dang game kept me playing for so many years. Now if someone can remind me what the best way to make plat is, I could use the help cause I have like 40k plat between all 7 accounts...Smiley: eek
Good to be back here at Alla's...good luck to all!!!!

My mains account (for EQ1/2) got neglected this weekend... instead I used my old box account to roll a new cleric on Xegony and play around in the tutorial all weekend (and today yet). Even though the box account had no previous characters for EQ1 to be grandfathered in, my subscription was at Silver which was a pleasant surprise.

If anyone has characters on Xegony or Feninro (forget what its merged with now) pm me. My main has a 50 druid on Fen, and a 20 something necro on Xegony.
