I am surprised this hasn't come up. What's the scoop, snoop?

information released thus far has been conflicting to say the least (on all aspects of F2P).

It seems that prestige items are going to be:

-mid-upper raid drops from the last 2 (possibly 4 --different devs/community reps have posted contrary things) expacs

-nearly every augment in the game until the april patch when the defiant ones will be unflagged as prestige (speculation here was that they did a universal flag on all augments and are picking away at just leaving the current good ones flagged that way).

-no mention of fabled directly... but most fabled wouldn't meet either of the above criteria.

Hopefully not, at this point almost no fabled items are really powerful enough to matter in the top tier group game, which seems to be the aim of other prestige cutoff points.

Everything is prestige.

I logged on my 93 Mage in HoT Tier 1 to 4 group gear and EVERY item equipped was yellow.

No raid gear, all group gear.

Basically, F2P means you can log on and say hi to friends but have to pay monthly sub fees to do anything.

EDIT So all of my gear is auged so that might explain that...

As you mentioned, your gear is augmented. The large majority of augments are prestige.

There are some complaints on the forums about augments being too restrictive, such as LDoN and crude defiant augments being prestige. I did pass that along, so hopefully they will change it a bit. However, considering how far along you are, you probably won't find any non-prestige augments.

Seconding this post - especially liked the "Basically, F2P means you can log on and say hi to friends but have to pay monthly sub fees to do anything" comment. This would obviously affect higher level players rather than new players or lower level returning players - the type of player the F2P program aims for I would suppose.

My highest character is level 80 with minimal AAs and not great gear - but some decently good gear including higher level augs - so will be sticking with subscription play during my sporadic EQ playtime.
