I would like very much to give everone here on the forums and in the game a HUGE THANKS for all the help, since im pretty new to everquest 1. I tried this game out about 8-10 yrs ago, but at the time also playing Asheron's Call and Dark Age of Camelot, so i tried eq1 for like a week, thought it was a good game but i was hooked on my other 2 mmo's, so played AC and DAOC for 10 yrs capping out every class there was and now both mmo's has nothing to offer me anymore. I closed both accounts and then played D&D online for 5 yrs capped out all my toons there so i got tired of that mmo and closed it for permanently , then i played Everquest 2 for 3 yrs,most fun i had in yrs in an mmo but i was done with it nothing new to offer me so i closed it as well. Then i thought back that hey i tried eq 1 for a week and it was good, so i closed out everyone single mmo i had open permanently and came back to here to give 100% of my time to eq 1, im homebound disable so i can devote 24/7 to this mmo and so far i am not regretting one moment on my decisions, im fallin in love wih this game already and looks like ill be here for awhile ( many years lol )

Again Thank You All for the help :-}

Glad to hear you are liking it.

FV seems to be turning into a returning-player catch-all server. The freemoves, higher xp, and looser ruleset towards loot (which favors casuals in some respects) all help.

I know it was much easier to get my brother's retired-for-years necro back up an running on FV. He's even been making progress.

Welcome back to EQ!

I'm surprised you stuck it out with AC after playing EQ for a week.

Around the same time I did something similar: my roommate worked at Babbage's and brought home both games. I played AC for about 6 hours. I killed bunnies and ran around in a very bland area with more bunnies and a pretty nondescript starting village.

After 6 hours of EQ I was lost in G Fay and loving it! I was running from Orc Cents, killing bats and snakes, and falling off the lift in Kelethin. The world was so fleshed out and vibrant compared to AC. Even on the original video settings it was so much more like what I imagined a D&D style rpg could be on computer. After the first 6 hours in EQ I never played AC again, lol.

But anyways, glad to see some returning players. Have fun and enjoy. There is a helluva lot of content to keep you busy here for a long time.

I can attest to that. Smiley: grin Began in late 1999 on Tarew Marr, played for 7 years continuously (meaning without an extended break), and when I left several years ago my main was only level 61. (Level 70 was the cap at that time.) Since returning last summer and transferring to FV, it's like a new game with all the additions and now I'm having fun going to Old World zones that, as a soloer, I never entered when it was new.

Give me another 7 years and I'll make it to the SoD zones. lol
