Anyone know why Rasper's Repository links are not working? I thought it was because Lucy's Item Collector was down. Now that it is up the links still don't work. I also tried the search function on lucy and on allakhazams and the items i was looking for do not show up. I have no doubt the info will be filled in within the next few weeks just wondering why all that hard work was essentially flushed down the toilet. EDIT: TO be more specific the links from the Veil of Alaris expansion. I tried the ole links from Seeds of Destruction and Underfoot and they still work. Double Edit: I am actually talking about the item links for those that haven't figured that out. lol

My guess would be that the link is either incomplete or in progress as the expansion has just been released.

You obviously haven't tried any of the item links from the Veil of Alaris expansion. I don't know how much more specific i can actually be.

Ahh..I see now what you mean.

The item info on Lucy page is blank.

The info will probably be there in a day or two. As Lucy must be getting a massive influx of incoming data since launch day. Incomplete or in progress might be the reason.

Wouldn't the info have been there a long time ago while Rasper was running the item collector in the background? I am sure he didn't want to break the nda during the beta and link the stuff early so he waited till launch day and then proceeded with the links. Okay really im only guessing. Though i should obviously be more specific in my explanations and should stop being an *** and saying obviously too much. lol

Item collector is not allowed in beta. So Rasper has to wait until those items are discovered on live first.

I shot him a PM though to make sure he was aware of the issue.

I am sure you are right about the item collector not being allowed in beta. I didn't think a person could make a link to a Lucy Database item before it was ever even put in. In that case once some one tells me how i will put a link to Rickymaru's Ultimate Asskicker Weapon of Destruction and Doom. It will drop off of a evil orc of doom some where in the netherworld. Seriously though i tried to type in the name of a few of the items on his site and they wouldn't come up at allakhazams or Lucy's. I understand though they will be filled in over time so no biggy. I am not trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. I just didn't understand why they wouldn't work offhand. No explanation what so ever from Rasper who put in all that work on his website and no explanation from an admin of this website.

Links to lucy are based on the in-game item number. If you determine the item number for an undiscovered item, via many methods, you can make a link to Lucy, that will be blank, until someone using lucy uploads the item.

Some ways this discovery is done, include: Using another network stream monitor during beta or live server that discovers a new item not listed on lucy; Logic on the enumeration of similar discovered items, and determining the missing items' numbers (I've personally done this many times for such things as missing items in a series of armors and/or augmentations); and other more spy-like ways, such as working on the item development team at Sony.

I'm not 100% positive, but I do believe lucy at some point (probably on the server side) has a filter for non-existant (as far as they know) item numbers to avoid beta users from using Lucy and accidentally (or maliciously) getting beta items added to the lucy database, and is why there is always a lucy patch with new releases to allow the new numbers to pass through the filter and be added to the database.

Just my thoughts.

Thanks for the info Yther. I didn't realize it worked that way. It makes sense too the way you explained it. I will let the thread die now. I was going to post something every day till i got a good response. Glad i didn't have to wait long.
