Crashing on LoginFollow

Well this is just peachy...starting last night and probably concurrent with the new expac going live, I can't log in one of my toons (my Pally). I get to the character select screen then wait approximately 5 minutes until I'm in game and am promptly disconnected.

Since at least 2 of my other toons didn't seem to have this issue, I first tried deleting the info in Azalysa's UI_character.ini file and replace it with the .ini file from the other toon that logs in ok. I was then able to log in (still had the 5 minute wait) and stayed in game slightly longer, although I couldn't move, until I was again disconnected.

Checked out the troubleshooting/known issues guide on Sony's website. For crashing upon login it was recommended to delete ALL UI_character_ini files (that should be fun redoing all my spell lineups and other customizations for each of my toons) as well as updating the the newest launcher which I am now doing. However, it will likely be quite awhile before it completes installation judging by the rate it is downloading. *sighs*

Has anyone else had this issue with being disconnected as soon as you logged in? I searched some EQ technical forums and have seen extremely long zoning times being reported since the new expac, as well as being disconnected when trying to zone into specific areas.

Hopefully the above tips from Sony will rectify the problem...but it is definitely annoying!!! Not to mention cutting into my prime play time available.

Update: After all the above machinations...nothing helped. After filing a ticket I checked out the Sony technical forums. Apparently quite a few people were having similar issues; most could log in but had extremely long zoning times. One person discovered that if she left her guild, the problem was resolved. Rejoin the guild and the issues began again. She then found if she unchecked "Show Offline" in the guild roster things were ok. Through all this I *have* been able to log in my one unguilded toon so decided that might work.

In the meantime, with all of my messing around trying to download the newest Launchpad, I apparently deleted it, so re-downloaded all 7.6 gigs of it again and continued on with RL. Just tried to log in my toons again. Pally logged in ok - quickly clicked off "Show Offline" in guild roster and was able to stay in world, zone normally etc. WOOT! Next up - the druid. I'm still experiencing the 6 minute wait from character screen to log in. Waited...waited....waited...waited...log in...disconnected. Grrrrr. I then deleted the UI_character_.ini file for druid and replaced it with Pally's; tried again - success.

What a PITA!!!!! Hopefully all will continue to be ok now.
