Bad time to come back?Follow

So last time i played eq was about around the time luclin came out and i left and later went to WoW where i stayed until about 3 months ago.... WoW has gone to complete bleh... the community is just not there anymore and everything can be done as a single player so there is no real dependence on anyone... you can pug anything and everything at anytime you want. I have been looking around and noticed that eq has released the TLP servers which is something that i would love to come back to but as soon as i made up my mind to come back everything got shut down! dont know if its a sign or what lol.... guess im asking if i should bother coming back or waiting for something else. And if i do come back for some reason i remember warriors as being much better than what im reading in the forums now.... Ive been a tank on WoW since it was released and i was thinking of coming back to eq as a warrior but after reading things im not sure its worth it anymore. When i played EQ back in the day i was an enchanter. Any suggestions on a class to come back with... i would definately be more interested in running in groups than solo, and im not much of a healer type player. Thanks.

As you know... the class is a personal choice. Play the type of class you like best.
If its beating on a mob then melee, if its nuking a mob then maybe a wizard, if its slowing a mob then maybe a shaman, if its buffing the group there are a few classes for that. SK & Berserker seem to do well in battle. They can get in the middle of the action and melee & cast if you like a bit of both.
Personally I am partial to shaman. They can buff, slow, heal, dot, dd a little and even do some beating if they so desire. Shaman are a well rounded class imho.
And we look good doing it! Smiley: winkSmiley: wink

Check out this info then you can make a more informed choice... https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/EQ:Classes/

I would come back to one of the two time locked servers if you are looking for grouping chances. Then play the character you want to play. Pure Warriors are a scarce. I started out a ranger but went to cleric to help my guild advance. (Seekers of Stars on Vulak)

Keep in mind your old character will still be on your account if you are renewing and not starting with a new subscription. So you could try picking up the game from there. Chanters are still in demand for guild work.
