That's what I was referring to as well.
The reason things are so quiet is that this is handled like any normal investigation, releasing any information too early could compromise the investigation. Sony isn't trying to hide anything from anyone like a lot of people suggest.
The reason absolutely everything is offline is due to the nature of network access and network attacks. The more people that use the network, the greater the chance of any evidence being buried or erased.
The compromised systems need to be imaged, access logs need to be pulled from every system that may have been accessed in any way, and the breech needs to be found and fixed. When this first happened, I estimated the systems would be back up by this weekend, but that estimate was based purely on the knowledge of how these things are handled and didn't come from Sony or any other source. The scale of the attack or the severity of the breech may delay that, but since those two details will never be released (which is normal), all we can do is make estimates.
