I just had a request for the devs of the website. Is there anyway you can match each spell in game to their respective expansion. Reason I ask is, since the new progression servers are out a lot of those spells are not in game yet and it would be nice to just be able to do a search with the classic selected and only see spells available. Not sure if this can be done but I figured I'd throw a request out there.

Thanks!

I like the OP's request.

In the meantime... some general tips for figuring it out yourself based on the current data:

If one way of obtaining the spell is a quest in Kunark... the spell is probably Kunark. Some of these became more readily available later on.

If it is sold in Thurgadin or on the gnomes in Iceclad... it's Velious. This is easier as some of these spells are still only available there or abyssmal sea (which is just a consolidated vendor added in GoD).

Luclin only spells are mostly sold in Shadowhaven or Echo Caverns.

Spells that drop from mobs in these eras are easily dateable... shardwurm or Sebilis source is Kunark, Vex Thal = Luclin and so on.

That covers most of the 1-60 spells.

LoY spells are quested based out of Gunthak, Dulak, Nadox and Torigian Mines

The LDON spells can be obtained via ldon points (research of them was added later).

The oddballs added later would be certain ports and expansion related novelties (i.e., illusions in The Serpents' Spine).

Thumbs up for that link Egnaro.

It answers a lot of people's questions about where the spells are, and when they will be unlocked.

For people who are looking at the link Egnaro linked, if you are still having trouble finding the spell, follow the links for the spell to find out where it is bought and/or dropped, like how Snailish explained. In 30 seconds I was able to find out why I couldn't find the Level 1 Hybrid heal, Salve.
