I am an old player also returning back to game.
Still have all info from account but what I would like to know is,
are there any GM's in this game that look at the chat with the spam of
some chars saying u can buy plat, get power lvl'd,at www. (what ever it is).
I started a new char on the fippy server and there is a character from Trakanon that keeps spamming this site for getting pl'd,plat, and other things.
Y r the GM's not taking care of this?
Is this game going to be like the other games where u will get spammed with these asses?
Please get rid of these people and lets put a stop to this crap b4 it gets out of hand.
Also is it true that the other zone u can start in has been hacked into?
it was said a lot of times last nite in the player channels.
The zone i am talking about is when u make a new char u can go to it something Reach.
Ty for ur time and hopping to get these issues resolved

They've more or less left it to the players to initiate action against spammers of all sorts:
Click on the spammers name in chat and set them as spam.
Report the gold seller.
Put them on ignore.
go /anon or /role and you won't get any/many spammer tells depending on where you are hunting.
I have seen zero gold spamming on Vulak'Aerr so far. Last time I played on an old server it was minimal.
Supposing someone did get into Crescent Reach early... wearing any of the drops would sort of give them away. Xp is world modified so while that zone is easy xp normally it would still be slower than we are used to there. Generating plat once you are past level 12 isn't that hard vs. the cost of what you can actually buy in the original world.
These are not the official boards, so really asking for action here is kind of like whispering. You certainly shouldn't hope for an official dev response.

All spam comes from uchat services which allow cross server chat. SOE long ago put in a filter which TOTALLY eliminates ALL spam but you have to turn it on.

The OP was a thinly disguised attempt at advertising a site selling plat. I reported it and it was deleted and then I guess DF restored it with the URL removed.

That makes the OP make far more sense.
Colour me guilty of wanting to encourage genuine returning players to see beyond minor faults in any mmo.

OP aside, the remarkable effectiveness of the spam filter is shocking. I'm surprised they haven't sold it off as a service to other MMOs.
