Risen From Ashes - Fippy Darkpaw (TLP) - Guild RecruitmentFollow

#1 Feb 02 2011 at 6:53 AM Rating: Good
Guild Name: Risen From Ashes

Website: http://rfa.guildportal.com

Time Zone: Mixed, but generally 8-12 EST is most active

Schedule: 3 Days week Non-Mandatory Raiding (when it becomes viable)

Loot System: Suicide Kings (will explain later in post)

Content: Time Lock Progression

Recruiting: All the cool kids! (All classes/races open)

In Game Contact: (currently on Antonious Bayle) Grudus, Konigkong, Petalan, Luvesie. Will update with Fippy names after launch.

Other:

We will be actively recruiting all classes until a full raid force is complete. Currently we have 4 Officers who are playing on Antonius Bayle and biding our time until TLP goes live. We are looking for 2-3 more people with raid leading experience to augment our current leadership.

Our officers have over 25 years combined Everquest experience as raiders / officers / groupers and we will be building a casual raiding guild whose goal is to raid 3 times a week focused on gearing and progression. We are planning on using a "Suicide Kings DKP" variant for our loot. (Details Below)

We are looking for adults 18+ who want to enjoy the classic EQ experience. Mature players are a requirement. We are not looking for drama. If you have any questions you can PM myself on these boards, KriegerRFA or Phoenix on the www.fippydarkpaw.com boards, see our current forums at http://rfa.guildportal.com or shoot Konigkong, Grudus, Petalan, Luvesie a tell on Antonius Bayle.

This guild originally formed in EQ when a great guild fell by the wayside and lost too many people to continue. Some of the members and officers decided to try and rebuild the guild under a new name and did so with much success. When Vanguard was released we moved as a guild to the new game. Over time some people left for other games but the unity of the guild never fell apart. We have all remained friends, regardless of whether we were playing the same games or not even gaming at all and have remained close over the past 7 or 8 years. The most recent non-EQ incarnation of this guild was the Azeroth Secret Society on the Eonar server of WoW. That guild actually still exists and continues to raid in Cataclysm, but the core founding members of the original EQ guild have finally come home and are ready to burn brighter than ever before.

Once upon a time we were all hardcore gamers and lived the raid/eat/sleep lifestyle, but now all of us have families and jobs that keep us from going back to that way of life. We play to have fun and we get the job done, but we also are very understanding when it comes to "Diaper duty afk" and "Quick AFK screaming kid!" breaks. We plan on being the place where people who would love to raid, yet have RL responsibilities that limits their play time can find a home of like minded people to enjoy the game with.

We do have an active vent server currently up and running, though for the time being it is shared with the WoW branch of our guild.

If anyone wants to come hang with us on AB or start chatting with us on our page or on our vent servers look us up in game and we will get you the info. We would love to have a few groups built and ready to go before the server is released and start working on those friendships early.

***Suicide Kings Explanation***

When a Suicide Kings (SK) system is installed, a list of all players in the raid is created randomly, ordering them from first to last. When the boss is defeated, the player in the first position has the option to declare his interest in a particular item. When they get the item they drop to the bottom of the list, effectively committing "suicide". As the guild progresses and more players receive items, the list slowly turns over. The list is updated and maintained over time, so each player is effectively guaranteed a spot at the top of the list if they participate in enough raids.

For example: Assume a guild has 5 players in the following order:

Alpha Bravo Charlie Delta Echo

Alpha, Bravo, Delta, and Echo attend a raid (Charlie does not participate). When an item drops Alpha can "suicide" on it, dropping to position 5. All other players advance, except for Charlie, who did not attend. The new order is:

Bravo Delta Charlie Echo Alpha

Now Bravo has the right of first dibs. Thus, if the same 4 players attend every raid, then each player will receive an item every 4th run. Charlie's position in the 3rd position is safe until he can raid again.

Esentially the list is always refreshing guaranteeing that no one person can dominate the top. While everyone is rewarded for attendance by moving up the list faster, your place on the list is protected so you are not punished for missing a raid. The loot is spread out among the members of the guild with those who attend most often gearing up slightly faster than those who do not.
