Bazaar setting files for transferFollow

#1 Nov 09 2010 at 2:35 AM Rating: Decent
Would like to transfer (copy) my bazaar (Buyer and Seller files) and general layout/settings files to another computer I use from time to time. Hate the idea of going thru all the pricing and redo of everything. Which files should I copy? I thought it was just the .ini files for the characters name and the BZR<name>.ini file but that doesn't seem to do it. What else am I missing? Thanks for any help

If you're copying over a fast local network, it's easier, to just copy everything, then you don't have to do hardly any updating at all, and takes alot less time, than downloading the entire game (deleting EQHardware.Ini or something similar if it exists). If not, then the following files are what you need.

Also note, if you haven't played for a while, you may have to rename the server portion of the filenames, as most servers were merged about 6 months ago.

From the default EQ Folder copy (UI Layouts, settings, and bazaar settings):
EQ*.INI (eqclient, eqclient-user, eqlsClient, eqlsPlayerData, eqlsUIConfig),
UI_charname_server.INI,
BZR_charname_server.INI, and
charname_server.INi

Copy everything from the maps folder (In-game maps)

If you use custom UIs, then copy all the sub-folders from the uifiles folder (UI files).

If you use custom Audio Triggers, then copy all the sub-folders from the AudioTriggers folder (Audio Trigger files).

From the UserData sub-folder copy (Journal, Audio Trigger settings, AAs, and other settings):
ABILITIES_charname_server.INI
AT_set_charname_server.INI,
BART_charname_server.INI,
CJ_charname_server.HDR,
CJ_charname_server.TXT, and
GN_charname_server.TXT

As much as I can remember off-hand. There's other things you can copy as well, such as the ScreenShots folder, and Logs folder, if you wanted as well.

EDIT: Forgot BART_charname_server.INI in UserData directory.

Only the ones specified. If you copy them all, it should, assuming, you've logged in all the toons on the original computer. If you only want specific toons, just copy the specific charname and server files, i.e. Yther and Druzzil (now Xegony) for myself. i.e. UI_Yther_Xegony.INI

If you wanted toons on the new computer that don't have INI files on the original, you'll have to copy them to a new file name, that matches the toons you want changed to that original one. i.e. copy UI_Yther_Xegony.INI UI_Newtoon_Newserver.INI

If you just want to manually modify it, refer to https://everquest.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=1&mid=124542421135575413#msg1245438466118381594

BZR_character_server.INI in your Everquest directory. Edit it. It's pretty self-explanatory, item name=# of copper pieces, such as, Alligator Egg=1000 mean 1pp (1,000 cp). This is the old format, the new format uses item numbers instead of the name, such, as 50167=2000000.

You cna find the item numbers by searching Lucy and looking at the URL (from the exaple above: http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=50167&setcookie=1 is a pair of Intricate Defiant Leather Sleeves for 2000pp.

Another thing to note, is you need to not be logged into the destination computer game, while copying. And all you should need, just for UI and bazaar buyer / seller info, is UI_character_server.INI, character_server.INI, BZR_character_server.INI in the base EQ directory, and BART_character_server.INI in the UserData subdirectory.

If you copy these and nothing has changed when you log in, your EQ is probably running from a different directory, and you can find that by right-clicking on the EQ shortcut and clicking properties, and noting the directory listed in the Start in: text box.
