Thinking about returning.Follow

I started playing EQ June 1999 and quit around late 2007 to play WoW. I want to come back and try EQ again but Im worried about some things.

1. In Wow there are lots of quests that you do to level all the way from 1 up to their max level of 80. These quests eliminate the need for mindless grinding of mobs. Is EQ still a game with no quests worth much exp and still involve you to mindlessly grind?

2. WoW has an awesome LFG tool. You select what dungeons/raids you want to do and usually if a raid or group is forming up you get a invite sometimes in under 10 minutes. When I last played EQ the LFG tool was a joke and I once spent 3 weeks in it and never got a group and just gave up because soloing was horrible as exp was slow as hell from 55-75.

3. Raiding. WoW has lots of pick up raids. Every week I can run Naxx/Ulduar/VoA and have a chance at loot with random people from different guilds. Do people in EQ form up these type of raids to get people geared on a regular basis or are raids still Guild only?

1. They have added some more quests, but it is no where even close to the WoW model. Grinding XP via killing is still the way to play it.

2. The LFG tool remains the same. You will be vastly disappointed if you expect something similar to the WoW version.

3. You may find pickup raids, that is server dependent, but it is absolutely nothing like the quick runs that WoW has.

Overall - stick with WoW if you want any of the things you listed because you will not even come close to finding that type of stuff in EQ.

This is one of the rare instances in which I suggest not returning. You appear to be accustomed to modern RPGs too much to return to an oldie like EQ.
