What am I doing wrong (quests)Follow

There are several types of quests: Refer to: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/fcluster/gotopost.pl?mid=1236895215281434496 for details about each of them.

Training Day is a task. Press Alt+Q and look at the middle section. Note that sometimes the middle section is shrunk to make it invisible. You need to move your mouse up from the bottom, until you get the vertical double arrows, then click and drag it down, to open the middle section up. Once you can see the middle section (task steps), you should see a set of task steps, in 3 columns, the first is the description, the second is the number of times it needs done, and the third is the zone this step is done in. If you can't see all of them, stretch the window out horizontally.

Anyway, for your particular task, the steps are, and should currently look like:

Speak with Warlock Veshan - 1/1 - Plane of Knowledge
Speak with Vivian the True - 0/1 - Plane of Knowledge

The first line should be green, showing it's completed, and the other one gray/white showing that it's unfinished, as well as the number of times showing, 1/1 for the green line, meaning it's finished, and the 0/1 on the white line, showing it's needs to be done once still.

You confirm you have the task. Now, target Warlock Veshan and hit h or H to Hail him. That will move you on to the next part of the quest.

You may have that key mapped to something else, but more likely, you're not using /say as your default channel. /say Hail, %t is the same as hitting the H key, if say is your default channel, and can put it in a macro, if you don't want to change your default channel back to /say.
