Modified armor/weaponsFollow

Well, am sort of back and need a good explanation on armor and weapons. Going to buy some new things.

Let's say I pick a chest piece for my ranger at her level. When I click the modified box to unmodified the stats really improve on the pieces in Bazaar. Does that happen automatically when you put on the piece or weapon?

What do I need to do to get the better stats besides the full blown when hit cap for the armor or weapon? and besides gems.

Without the unmodified kicking in the stats are really sad.

Do I go somewhere?

Thanks

I'm guessing that the item has a recommended level that you are not yet meeting. Once you are that level, you will get those stats.

Unmodified shows max stats at the recommended level. Modified shows the stats at your level. If your level is equal to or higher than the recommended level, they will show the same stats modified or unmodified.

With the level of your Ranger, and as much difference as you're noticing, you should make sure that the items are not required level above your level also. At most any level, when there's a great difference between modified and unmodified stats, it generally means you're way below the recommended level, and with your Ranger in the 70s, that means, it's probably recommended 83-85 range, and probably has a required level of 80.

Anyway, if you are equal to or above the required level, and you do buy such an item, the stats will grow each time you level, until you reach or exceed the recommended level.
