Group Exp/ Game infoFollow

So I've quit the game when the end raid zone was Discord tower ( the expansion b4 this 1?).. and there's a few questions i got b4 i come back

I got a couple friends starting from scratch with me but i also got an level 80 toon i can play ( my old main). but w/e the min level is for an 80 to group with the newb toons how is the exp spread between the group on a green con( and other con) mobs? would like 60% of the exp to twoards the level 80 cuz he is higher level and needs more, or does it spread it out evenly between the group?

And another question- what is "Heirloom". Does it mean the same and does the same as it is on eq2? Loot an item on that toom and you can trade it to other toons on ur acct unlesss it was attuned? or what does it mean.

Any help would be appreciated =D

Edit: Another question about Mercs. Are there more then just healing/tank mercs now or we stuck with the same 2 classes still?

Grp XP:
Highest = 1.5 * Lowest + 1 round fractional results down
Lowest = (Highest - 1) * 0.666 round fractional results up
Chart

For Regular or AA XP, it's generally best to keep the con of the mobs in the sweet spot for the lower level toons. That is +/- 5 levels. I try to keep the mobs 3-7 levels above the lower ones, this way they get the some of the best bonus, but generally easy and fast kill cons for the higher level toon.

If you stick with the sweet spot for the higher level toon, the lower levels will still catch up, as long as they aren't suffering from any xp mod that will slow them down, like group leader xp or the like, but slower than the previous method. As the kills will be slower. However, if you can slaughter dark blues to your higher level toon, it may be better. It mostly depends on your higher levels kill rate.

Either way they will eventually catch up. And if you put more into AA on the higher level toon, they will catch up even faster. Also, if you're going for purely regular experience on the lower level toons, and don't care about getting any experience on the higher level toon, you can slaughter greys to the higher level, as long as they are experience cons to the lower levels, they will get regular experience, just not AA or group leadership experience.

It's not an equal transfer of experience. The system has been changed, but the following link, explains the original system pretty well:

Heirloom means the same thing, but it is only related to Marketplace and LoN items. See http://forums.station.sony.com/eq/posts/list.m?topic_id=166644&post_id=2518203#2518203

There are now melee dps (basically Rogue), and caster dps (basically wizard) mercs now. See Jun 9, 2010 Patch Notes:

Wow thanks much there Yther

But yeah the higher level toon is a warrior and he's not the best for dps. So its just best to stick to grey con mobs on the higher level dude but make sure they are like orange/red cons for the lower level guys?

and Bah Heirloom only works for Marketplace and Lon items? weakkk =P

and cool didnt know they added more merc's.

overall thanks for all the help- It was needed and greatly appreciated
