FV Server - QuestionFollow

Hey guys,

I have been playing since around 2003. I did take a break between mid '07 and late '09.
I actually have been MIA for a couple of months now also because life has been crazy.

Anyway, I have played on Bertox my entire EQ life. I think I made a level 1 char on AB once to talk to a friend. I made a level 1 char on Zek once, but of course couldn't experience any of the pvp. I also played up until level 10 on the progression server, but since it became a huge rat race I quickly gave that up.

I was wondering how FV is for anyone who does or has played there? I'd really like to try the experience, but I'd also like to know a little more about it if anyone can give some insight. I highly doubt I'd ever abandoned my character, guild, and love of Bertox; but I would definitely like to try new things.

Any hardcore rules I should know? Any hints? Pros? Cons?

Your opinions are greatly appreciated in advance! <3

It has fewer people than any other server, by at least a factor of three, especially in the lowend game.

warning: i don't care for capitalizing...if that stresses you out, skip my post.

i moved from vaz/ms to fv when i pcs'd to europe a couple of years ago. my hubby and i wanted a server that we could use in our current time zone as well as back in the states when we go home next year. fv has been a great server for me, i don't like crowded and we have 3 accounts so finding a group is not an issue. you can have up to 3 toons now, so we went totally nutz with the alts when that changed over. mercs help balance it out as well. it is a low pop server, which i have already said is great for me. no real camp stresses here. low end toons have it easy starting out...and to be honest it isn't all that tough to acquire items and plat here. if you are already experienced with the game, this is a good server to be on if you want to take it easy. there are a few hard core raid guilds, i think they are all stateside based. i have not really run into anyone totally stupid, fv folk don't mince words so dipsh*tz don't really survive long here. my recommendation is make a toon, try it out, if you don't like it, don't stay. you never know til you try it.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, other than my guild, most of my friends are long gone from EQ. I do still have some old friends in my guild, but they have progressed quite a bit. While I am still welcome, there isn't a lot I can do with them. So I am pretty accustom to being solo while playing. I'm not looking for to remake my glory days or character. Just to have some fun and experience all the little niches that EQ has to offer.

So I guess my real question should have been, is there some sort of etiquette I need to know about other than the normal consideration for other players? I've only been around one or two people who stay in character, and unfortunately, on Bertox, they always seemed a little odd when they spoke in guild chat or group chat. I guess I'm just nervous of offending someone in group or zone with my "oheemgeez". >.<

ahh i get it now. ok. some role play, some don't. there are guilds that are lined directly with your race and religion and sometimes if you start RP, others may follow. it is not as prevalent as it once was, but it still exists. learn elvish or you will have a hard time communicating in anything other than general chat.

if you come to fv, better get more accounts. its nearly impossible to get groups. my 65 ranger was so bad, i had to make more accounts. now i six box. always a full group for me. :)

also, the bazaar is expensive since theres oodles of gear that you might never see unless you raid. the low-end of the bazaar is kind of lame, basically you need to expect to wear recommended level armor before you get full stats. fungus tunics run around 100k+.

sorry my post seems disorganized, 6 hours of sleep in the past 48 will do that to you.
