I sure would love to see this happen in the near future and I'm very certain a lot of other EverQuest Players (both active and retired) would also love to see it happen as well.

Content that rewards mindless repetition of the same tasks? No thanks, I already have minesweeper on this computer.

You say potato, and I say potatoe.

Camping a static zone for X number of hours versus camping an instance for X number of hours.

I'll take the static zone because I hate the wasted time involved with getting the mission, traveling to/from the mission, remember to quit the mission, etc.

Perhaps, if it had a soloable element.

i dunno about soloable.. they probably wont do that... but maybe a 2 person minimum. ide be ok with 3 person minimum as long as a merc can count as a person =)

I think the devs can make this happen only if a huge number of people (active and/or retired) actually support the idea of an LDoN Styled expansion or at least the idea to further update LDoN itself since it is indeed one of the unique things within EverQuest since it offers players a chance to compete against one-another.

All they would have to do is express their personal thoughts about it and if this is what the majority personally feels then the chances of this happening are likely.

I would love something like this, but it would not help the game in the long run unless they made it a 6 player min with no mercs or boxers, then it would be a blast. Mabye remind people why EQ was so darn fun.

I have never understood why they don't add more content to exisiting expansions. I would imagine it wouldn't take much programming to modify LDONs to add some higher level versions and some higher level gear. The bulk of the code (the workings of it) is already there. Currently the LDON expansion is just about totally worthless aside from the misc stuff they added at the same time. Sorry, I just hate to see parts of the game that are made irrelevant. I would love to see people competing for the LDON leader boards again.

Didn't they carry on the principle into GoD (or was it OoW?) I seem to remember a zone in with a Priest of Discord and a series of instanced caves along the right side which worked almost like LDoN for higher levels. Then there was that odd instance you could solo in the zone beyond JaggedPine.

I was just getting up to a point of trying to box an LDoN again. Can you take Mercs in there?

Actually, not quite worthless! I've found them to be fantastic for leveling in! I keep grabbing Hard mob count missions and I stay the full 30 minutes after I've succeeded in the mission to clear out as many mobs as I can. Usually it's been taking me 30 minutes to finish the mission itself and up until my 60's, I was gaining a full level per run. The loot is pretty nice too! The mobs really don't hit very hard and die pretty quickly. I'm actually ranked 14th on my server now for Hard Mistmoore successes! I'm thinking of grinding out a ton of AAs in there too while I can. It's nice, no competition for mobs at all.
