Evolving weapons and augsFollow

Does anyone know what happens if you have an evolving weapon with an aug equiped in it when the weapon moves to the next level?

Does the weapon not evolve to the next level or does the aug disappear or what? Should I not have an aug equiped until the weapon is fully evolved?
