National News, Sony to layoff 400 jobs in Southern California. Any rumors regarding SoE and EverQuest in particular? or is my Virtual life secure or should I look for a virtual shopping basket to make it my home (game)?

The online games have to be a formidable income...wouldn't make sense to hurt that, by laying off employees in that area.

Or by laying off enough to make the game unplayable.

/Fingers crossed...

Do you have a link to the article?

Here is the link I found regarding Sony Pictures:

Quote:
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., the studio behind the "Spider-Man" movie franchise, is laying off about 450 people and eliminating 100 open positions to cope with declining DVD sales.

SOE is not part of Sony Pictures anymore. They are part of Sony Computer Entertainment. They also did some layoffs about 6 months ago, give or take.
