Avira and some other Anti-Virus programs detect this due to the auto-update nature of the Item Collector. It checks for new versions of itself and downloads, which is a virus-like behavior.
EDIT: I assume the code they're using to do this checking and updating, is similar if not the same as the Trojan being detected. Although, from memory it seems if you set Avira to extra thorough (less mis-detects, longer scanning time) that it correctly skips this program.
You can set Avira to ignore this particular program, to allow it to run.
