Hello all

I just recently began playing again and having a blast.
I noticed that together with Defiant armor and TSS armor quests, I'll never run out of armor quests.

But where are the weapons?
You get some upgrades in the tutorial, and casters can do the lvl 10 quest in Crescent Reach for a nice 8/20 staff, plus ofc the Defiant weapons that drop (if you are lucky), but arent there others?

I do remember there being quests for weapons in Shar Vahl back in the day, but they are rather outdated compared to Defiant.

If there isnt any, I'll prolly just hunker down in the old zones before no drop and attunable and get some of that for my new small toons. :P

For low levels, twink stuff is generally the best way to go. Even in the bazaar many really good twink weapons are often inexpensive. By the 50s, though, there becomes a lot of quests (and Monster Missions) that offer very nice weapons as well. The lower level quests are often sub-par results due to the age of the quests, and to keep them in line with what was originally designed.

Just in case, you're really into doing quests, here's some:

Newbie tasks (weapons and armor) in each starter zone of Faydwer:
Greater Faydark
GF War: Emerald Novice
GF Dru: Leafrunner
GF Bar: Tranquilsong
GF Rng: Trueshot
GF Rog: Tunarean Scout

Felwithe
NFw Pal: Felwithe Defenders
NFw Clr: Sylvan Initiate
SFw Wiz / Mag / Enc: Art Keeper

Ak`Anon
AA Pal: Deep Muses
AA Wiz / Mag / Enc: Collective Initiate
AA War: Initiate Watchmen
AA Shd: Plague Knight
AA Clr: Plague Raiser
AA Rog: Plague Rust
AA Nec / Wiz / Mag / Enc: Plague Sorcerer
AA War: Plague Warrior
AA Rog: Shadowwalkers
AA Clr: Shortnoble

Kaladim
NKd Rog: Apprentice Miner
NKd Clr: Brells Blessed
NKd Ber: Stonewrath
NKd Pal: Underfoot Defender
SKd War: Axebringer

More just like these in most starting cities (Crescent Reach being the single exception). You can find them by going to Quests... By Zone to the left.

The one you mentioned in CR is: Staff of the Dark Apprentice for Priest / Casters. There are several 20-30ish level weapon quests in Blightfire Moores

For higher level quests, some examples include:
Sweeping the Stepes: Gnolls
Nhemen's Secret

Some MM ones (Items scale to your level):
Queen Nok Nok's Tomb
Grobb Under Seige
Infiltrating the Hive
Shadowmane Invasion Pal / Shd only
70.3: The Fall of Illsalin
War Machines

I've done the Sweeping the Steppes: Gnolls a few times, and isn't terribly hard, but a lot easier if you get a higher level friend to help, so you can get it at the required level. The only MM I've done particularly for the weapon is Nok Nok's Tomb, and was too difficult for me to solo. Appeared it wouldn't be extremely difficult with three players, possibly even boxed. I had also tried it two-boxing, but couldn't quite manage it.

Overall, I'd still go with twinkish to start out with, if at all possible. Do the quests for mid-level if need be. For the higher end, there are tradeskilled weapons, many non No Drop weapons you can buy or hunt, and of course dropped weapons.

Thanks a bunch for that post, I really appreciate it. :)
And yeah if I feel the lowlvl weapons are just not worth it, there's always twinkage. :)

Yther is on the mark.

Beware the Froglok's of Innoruuk though... seems their newbie quests were never fully implemented when they were added with the move to Rathe Mountains. Never tried the Marr worshipping frogloks to see if their newb quests were properly moved over, so I can't comment on that.
