Coming Back To EQ.Follow

#1 Dec 10 2009 at 10:43 AM Rating: Decent
Hello Everyone :):):)

I am returning to EQ. A good friend and I both have level 75 Necromancers. I also want to make me a new toon which would be a SK. I do want to ask after we both get back involved in the game and get to level 85. we wanted to know if we teamed up and I hired a Tank Merc and she hired a cleric Merc would we be able to go to Riftseekers and take on Chailak ??

I only am interested in him and would want to kill him because he drops
"Red Crystal Ring." which has decent stats but only really want it for the 45% haste which I believe is the maximum haste item in EQ.

I would appreciate any help on this matter or if anyone knows of a similar haste item or better one that I might to find please let me know.

Thank You :):):)

Ok never mind Forgot have to be 69 to enter Riftseekers and item is no trade so won't work because obviously one Necro and SK would be on same account.

If you planning on putting on a level 1 toon, you'll only get 2% haste. Worn haste is level capped at level+1%, and you can get max haste from personal or guild tribute, although not till around 60 level (forget exact point on tribute).

You should look into NToV for drops. No level or key required to enter, and several 45% haste items. All No Trade, but still, if your twink has faction, they can run through the whole zone no problem.

Personally I don't even look into twink stuff till 50+ any more. It's so easy and fast to get to the 50s or even higher, with just the very basic gear, let alone defiant. Only time it's really slow, is if it's a new toon on a new server w/o any cash or friends, then still not horrid.

Did they remove the level 46 requirement to enter the zone? I know that the gear has no level requirements, but I thought the zone did.

Maybe, I'll see about taking a low level there to verify it. SoV was an expansion I never got into until much later, so may have misunderstood the requirements for that zone, and no one ever corrected me :D

EDIT: Having trouble getting my 2nd level Ber there, dragons hate me, but still working on it. :)

Gonna have to get some faction first, will update when I know for sure.

New Temple of Veeshan, from Scars of Velious

NToV really stands for North Temple of Veeshan, because all the good drops come from the North Wing of the zone.

NToV, while a good place for lower level drops, is kind of a gamble as far as mobs being up. Dagarn has been on constant farm on almost every server for the last year or so, and in the wake of such camping, many of the other dragons are being killed at the same time.

I think your instincts to go to the OoW expansion are right on, as you can do Dranik's, Noble's Causeway, Bloodfields, WoS, MPG (at 68? iirc) and RCoD for decent gear, quest armor, and spell runes, although they all have rec/req levels, when the sk gets in the 60's these will be good places.

There are also a lot of places in The Serpent Spine that would net you the same kinds of rewards. Places like Goru'kar Mesa, Sunderrock Springs, and Icefall Glacier all have stuff that would be valuable for a returning or leveling player. And the beauty of the TSS expansion is that if you choose to you can level 1-75 without ever leaving TSS zones. So you could have the sk tag along with the other necro and collect xp and loots the whole time.

I am not trying to discourage you from going to NToV, just saying that there are lots of other options at your level, than hoping the 3-5 day cycle of dragons is in your favor when you finally make the journey to get there.

By the time you have your sk to level 70 and can get in you will most likely have another haste item or be using tribute effects.
