I will edit this post and make it easy Sony Online Entertainment Nerfed, Screwed with Ever Quest to damage it forever. I just have one thing to say to the entire SONY Corporation " GO TO HELL."

Verant was always a part of SoE during the existence of EQ. Most large gaming companies decided to buy up the small companies in the mid 90s and didn't get rid of the illusion of many independents until well into the 2000s.

I am pretty sure EQ2 was out long before Prophecy of Ro, but shrug at the overall relevance of the precise fact anyways.

The last in-store EQ advertising I recall was Lost Dungeons era, that was really the last time EQ was seen as being cutting edge (whether fair or not) in the online game market. Vinney will agree with you that EQ needs to advertise and bring in population. Others would suggest that SoE knows how to spend just enough money to make money.

I do know that if I was unhappy with something in 2005 it wouldn't still be in my life in 2009.

Your post probably won't be erased, but supposing it was and you continue to repost it... that seems like alot of time lurking for what purpose?

Last time I saw a retail box of EQ was back in 2005 (Depths of Darkhollow). It was around the time when I started playing initially.

I couldn't read this... Paragraphs and proper punctuation are needed. Just from skimming it and reading what I can manage, it sounds like you just are chasing the nostalgic feeling - we all do that, with just about everything. Yeah they shouldn't have changed some of the things they've changed, but whats done is done - if it's making them a profit, and the majority of the fans are happy, they have no reason to change it back - nor should they.

We replaced Cjguy's regular instant coffee with pure crystal methamphetamine. Let's see if he notices...

I think we have all felt this way from time to time but feel comforted by the fact that EQ is still as screwed up as it always was, but now at least the servers stay up instead of crashing for 2-8 hours everyday.

I will address one small part of your rant (back before you deleted it). You ended by saying the changes to EQ meant you "wasted" years on the game. Unless you're using the game to generate a cash flow somehow, it's pretty much a given that your time playing it was wasted except for the entertainment it gave you at the time. It's a game. Eventually it'll shut down and your time will have been "wasted". Or you'll stop playing for other reasons and your time will have been "wasted". If you're looking for fruitful ways to spend your time, MMORPGs ain't it.

Oh, and this forum is separate from SOE. No one here is interested in deleting your posts to protect SOE and no one from SOE is going to read your posts here.

Hmmm my costs to play per day TODAY...

EQ $0.01 per day since I bought it back in 1999.
Kunark $0.01 per day since I bought it.
SoV $0.01 per day
SoL $0.01 per day
PoP $0.02
Ykesha $0.02
LDoN $0.02
GoD $0.02
OoW $0.02
DoN $0.02
DoDH $0.03
PoR $0.03
TSS $0.03
TBS $0.04
SOF $0.05
SoD $0.10

So today when I played, the cost ammoritized over the duration that I have own the expansions cost me 44 cents per day to play.

Monthly fee is $14.99 per month or about 50 cents per day.

EQ costs me 94 cents per day to play. This is very, very inexpensive entertainment for th hours of enjoyment or frustration that it brings me. I don't consider it wasted.

Heck, a crappy movie can cost me $10 per hour (figure 2-hour movie length).

I hope you were able to fix your shoulder after your arm was twisted to force you to sit in front of your computer and log on to EverQuest?

The last expansion retail box I saw was SoF. So that was only 2 expansions ago.

I've been playing the same character I created back in 2001 and am happy with the game...because I take it for what it is: A GAME!!! It's entertainment like a console system is, with a socializing system attached. If people incorporate their lives into it to the point of insanity, well that's their own damn fault.

Geez, why are people so frickin' retarded?

Okay, off my soapbox. Peace.
