Has anyone else noticed a sort of jump in the increase of new/returning players? I know I returned when I realized that WoW really wasn't for me anymore, the game had taken a turn for the worse, and I didn't enjoy it, so I decided to check out Everquest again, and I'm adjusting the way I play, but I enjoy the game more than WoW, it seems that the game has a certain characteristic that I still enjoy (plus its like the Grandfather of all these other games right? haha)

If only they would update the zones, comparing Qeynos to Freeport...kind of like..eh, haha

It does seem like there are a lot of returning players to me too. Of course, I did just return 10 weeks ago, so (maybe) I notice returning player threads on forums more... It's the old conundrum, when you spend your time looking for something, you're much more likely to find it.

I also came from WoW, and I honestly used to enjoy that game. But WoW, shockingly, is making their game so easy to progress now that there's just no challenge at all, no incentive to accomplish anything when anything you do is blatantly trivial. Clearly EQ has been taking hints from other games out there and they have been making the game easier too - but no to the point that it's trivial, far from it. EQ is still a challenging and fun game. I do think that they maybe went just a little too far with defiant armor but that's not the point of this thread.

I just wish I had known earlier that EQ had made so many changes, most for the better - because I would have been back even sooner.

I have to agree also. On Zek it has been very noticeable. Probable more toward the returning player then new but I have notice both. It makes me very happy, especially because I am such an advocate towards SoE focusing on population. I just hope it is because the players are looking for quality entertainment and not because they gave up on Real Life economy and are turning to Fantasy? At 50cents a day great bang for the buck when it comes to entertainment.

I think it's all the peeps exiting Prexus! They moving to other servers because Sony would rather chaged $25 per toon rather than do a server merge. :)

Have to agree here as well, alot of players seem to be leaving Stromm and moving to other more populated servers. This server needs to be merged badly.

Ah Crap i just joined Stromm because someone somewhere said it was very nicely populated.

But yeah I came back because the 5$ deal on steam was hard to passup, that and a gift card that only had 6 bucks left on it. Decided to try it out for a month.

After about 3 days I just canceled FFXI, Last time I played EQ i was 16 and a total noob. Now I am getting the hang of it, and am enjoying it more at 21.
