Running Through Old ContentFollow

A few RL good friends are coming back to the game and we want to run through the content we missed, which is pretty much from high end velious up to now. We have a Shadowknight, Paladin, and Druid, which I imagine would be well rounded with a couple mercs. What would you guys suggest as an order to try and make the most of and survive all the content up to now (not to grind to 85 asap but really check out the content) and maybe some fun recommended quests that might be enjoyable along the way? We're pretty much defiant geared so difficulty isnt as much of a problem as much as how to deal with the huge quantity of new zones. I dont remember the order of expansions, and even though I've played off and on for a decade, I'm still pretty much lost in anything but old world and kunark zones. I appreciate all the help, and I figured this post would help a lot of people trying to catch up on stuff they might have missed.

By the way, We are on the Quellious server, if anyone wants join us in running throuh all this send a tell to anyone in Kelorn's Treasure Hunting Co.

Someone posted a mirror to the old EQ Atlas site a few days ago. I'd start by looking at it and selecting dungeons from the original world, Kunark, Velious and Luclin. Personally Luclin never did much for me but you might feel differently. Anyway, I'd aim for the dungeons because that's where (again, my opinion) most of the best content is and if you wanted to sit on a zone wall and safely pull roaming fauna, you could do that in any zone. Note that Splitpaw has been updated since the Atlas was written and is now at lvl 65-70+ zone depending on gear & skill.

Thanks a ton, haha especially for the atlas link, I thought the site was down for good and i'd never have that convenient list at the bottom of the zone descriptions with important mobs and items...As far as the dungeons go We pretty much have done kunark and velious, and I'm not a fan of Luclin much either, but I'd at least like to kill some of the stuff. I've check the alla's guides on progression for the expansions, I just dont know what order to approach all of them. I remember GoD being so damn hard i pretty much just played alts for a while. After getting through the luclin content though, Im at a loss as to how to best see all the sights.

While I can't give you any suggestions about content (I never saw most of the group content in the game myself) - I just wanted to say how envious I am. I think it's a great idea and would be tons of fun to be able to take a trek through EQ history like this.

Also interesting is your group makeup, because it is far from optimal. You have essentially no crowd control and no slower, so even though you will outgear most of the content, it should still be challenging (and I think that's a good thing!)

I hope you post back here with your progression. I for one would be curious what path you take and how it works out.

Come to the Test server and join Intended Consequences (formerly known as Unintended Consequences) and re-do old content with a whole guild.

We do have restrictions on gear. We try to stay as close to gear and spells found in the original expansions.

Currently we are in Planes of Power.

Your group could do the old "alt" quests for PoP flags. Even though all the zones are open now, some are still fun to do and plus you get additional aa's for some of them. When you get a little higher the MPG group trials are fun.

Lots of fun quests and progression things to do in DoN as well.

If we catch up through PoP, would we be able to handle GoD zones? I remember those being insanely difficult, and our group is most likely going to still be at the original levels intended for those zones, so the only real advantage we will have is from gear and newer AA skills. On another note, Is the PoP progression able to be done with one group at this point with characters in their high 60's or will we need more than one group to get through it? I apreciate everyones responses, you guys definatly have some good ideas.

If you are the original level but with the newer gear, you should be fine. As an example:

Top Paladin BP to break into GoD (way back when):
Ultor's Chestguard of Faith - 87 AC, 185 HP, sunt resist mod2

Elaborate Defiant BP (with level 65 stats):
76 AC, 245 HP, 12 different mod2

I think you'll have an easier time just based on the new gear available.
