After reading the reviews for the newest expansion, Underfoot, my hesitation for purchasing it has been lifted. Since I am a casual player and enjoy soloing, tradeskills, etc. I will not purchase this expansion at this time. Doesn't sound as if there is anything in it that will benefit my play style and that's sad.

IMO, all expansions should have something for every style of play. Oh well......

Hmm - odd - you must have read something different if you are truly a tradeskiller and can't see any reason to get Underfoot.

The new cultural armour ought to send shivers of excitement down your spine, as well as the new weapon augments, tradeskillable ornamentations, new jewelcrafted items, etc etc etc.

Unless you meant that you are a dabbler in tradeskills, then I apologize for calling you on it - as a true tradeskiller here (300 all trades - max trophy in 4 of 7 tradeskills - and working on the other 3) I can't wait to tear into these new recipes to create new items and sell.

As to soloing - it all depends on what class and how you solo... if you are a paladin there are awesome undead areas to practice your Slays - other classes will have to find other ways to enjoy the expansion.

I agree however that the majority of the expansion will be for raiders and hardcore players - and after the travesty of the pablum that was fed to us via SoD, it's about time for a challenge.

I am in the same boat. Many people are describing it like when GoD was first released. I was around back then, and GoD was hard for those with current raid gear.

Since I don't have top end group gear, let alone any raid gear these days, I am not buying an expansion that might offer me a zone or two to play in.

Alot of talk around this issue lately. The GoD-like comment is being said alot, I really think that has to be taken lightly though --too much context required to make that comparison hold true.

I remember purchasing OoW figuring on little of it being for me at the time since I hadn't gotten much from GoD... little did I know it would hurt the casual undergeared chanter so bad. GoD was unplayable at launch for most. OoW made my favourite class unplayable to me.

After a break I came back right before DoD. Ended up buying it right away... was dismayed at what monster missions did to the immersion/culture of the game but oh well. Some people like them. Didn't regret buying it though since some of the content in between was very handy to me, still get minimimal use out of the DoD specific content though.

I bought SoF and played for about 4 months after (got lured away to other mmo for a bit) without having zoned into it. I figured buying it supported the development of the game and eventually I would get there. (Still haven't really... kind of funny).

TSS makes up for all the expansions I haven't gotten much out of though. I like the concept of TBS and suppose I will get around to doing it soon, not sure if PoR really has anything for me at this point.

I don't have SoD, and won't likely get Underfoot right away, or even in the near future. I have way to much to do to be ready for that content. If they had put a sub-Warrens in for level 70-80 I would be buying it for the one zone. At this point I have paid for several expansions I don't really use so don't see the need to blindly keep buying in.
