Hope all had a Happy Halloween!

No eq to speak of this weekend as I am in the middle of a long string of nightshifts. Smiley: oyvey

I did log in from work and run my bst to Ashengate to look around a bit, picked up a nice ac aug, while grouped with a rogue that rezzed me back in after I was killed trying to make the aquaintance of the entrance mobs at the zone in.Smiley: blush

Not even an hour all total.Smiley: frown

Post some some good stuff to help tide my eq addiction over on these nightshifts.Smiley: grin

No eq as the computer is down.

Friday Elne and I drove over to Chestertown Md. for the Sultana[i] downrigging weekend.
Missed most of the fireworks when we were eating dinner, but went to the concert put on by Dem Eastport Oyster Boy's. Great fun would have been even better if I had been able to hear the vocals. Small theatre acoustics and electric instruments meant I had to stuff my ears a bit to stop the noise from hurting my ears.

Saturday we had a leisurely morning. Walked for a bit around town. Ran into some friends, one of them owned a boat but the gearshaft broke entering the town and she wasn't gong out. I got tired and went to the car for a bit, Elne continued shopping.
For the afternoon we went aboard the [i]mildred Belle
a 1948 buy boat. (Buy boats bought oysters from the watermen and sold them in town. This allowed the watermen to stay out longer.)
Didn't have to pay as the Belle is operated by the same folks who pay my salary on the Historic Ships. We were not sailing but got to see all the other craft under sail. Elne has a few pics she will post on the asylum when she can.
Drove home and had a relaxing night.

Sunday worked at the light house, watched some TV and read.

Jonwin, I've often wonder if computer problems are seasonal. Definitely from my experience repairing them, modems always go out alot more during the spring storms, but even other times of the year, they seemed to come in big pulses. Fall being one of them, and x-mas I believe was just from people that don't sue theirs much getting on alot due to the long holiday break.

Anyway, Yther's Video Card died last week, and my computer had been overheating, but I got mine cleaned out and all the fans working, and it's been ok since then.

As far as EQ, I didn't do alot of exciting stuff, other than the Anguish raid Sun night, but to start off with, Fri and Sat, spent most of my time in Tenebrous Mtns trying for the rare a grol baku warlord which I had gotten to spawn once the whole time there and he didn't drop the item I was after. I did get a lot of names, which was interesting as, I've generally only farmed the castle and other coterie camps, and not the generaly field. Heck when I found the item was on a grol baku, I dind't even realize there were any there, which of course, there's not many, maybe 12 up at a time, all wondering mobs.

Sun raided Anguish. Nothing too exciting other than I got to RT and MT a few mobs which was good practice. And I got to test out my aggro. It went pretty well. I kept aggro pretty solid on Hanver, cept for a sec or two, when I'd get knocked back and stunned for 6+ sec then have to run back. He usually wouldn't switch targets tho, until I was just able to move again, so it was only for a few seconds at a time. Only big draw back was dieing alot, and I was aobut 1% short of safe death buffer, so un-dinged / re-dinged alot :D Did a few MMs afterwards to get that buffer up.

Long play time weekend, but only 2 main events :D It was fun never the less, and hopefully, I'll get that item sometime from TM, or get around to getting a better item from VT or somewhere else.

have a great week all, and have fun everyone!

Yther Ore.

Ok, here goes.

Spent the whole weekend in the plane of Earth. Was looking for the ball of elemental clay ( the elemental illusion clicky.) With the new rare pop weekend, thought it would be easier.

Actually, had never been here and had alot of fun. After reading some posts here and using the map from mapfiend, I was under the impression that it popped at only ONE of the frog traps.

So after about 6 hours of doing this ( and trying for the pet procing monk weapon ) I decided to just start killing all the frog traps. Low and behold, at the first frog north of the "supposed" Warlord...he pops, and drops the ballSmiley: eekSmiley: grinSmiley: wink

So now shaman had an illusion clicky to go along with the warrior skele one from Fear.

But I kept at it, still trying for the pet weapon ( got the Ancient to spawn a lot, but just got a lot of earringsSmiley: dubious) and sure enough, now both of my guys are elementals. Smiley: grin)

Was fun...and got a boatload of AA's in the process. ( Forgot to add that I spawned the Perfect Warder on accident....he kindly Rager gated us back to the guild lobby Smiley: sly

Friday I dabbled around for a short time, nothing really accomplished.

Saturday a real-life former guildie decided to come back to EQ again (how long.. who knows) so we rolled dwarf rogues on Povar. 1-24 in a few hours between tutorial and Lake of Ill Omen... without high level support. Pots & mercs & defiant (just a little bit actually) oh my.

Sunday: just played a bit more on the rogues. Took them to 29/30 in Goru Kar Mesa. Starting to think about Stone Hive as twilight sea isn't that great in our opinion.

got my new wizard on povar up to 51. The tank merc is slowing down dps wise and it is faster to kite now. Through the 40s the tank merc was doing about the same sustained dps as the wiz. I started to do the scarecrow merc quest but I am afraid I started too late with the lockout between steps.

It was a busy weekend for me, but not in game unfortunately. I managed to work on Sam's tailoring a little, burning through all the flawed animal pelts, natural silks and acrylia studs I had accumulated to get from 150 to 190 skill. Pristine silk, some Teir'dal cultural robes are next.

What's amusing is that all I really need is a couple ethereal silk swatches - something that would have been 20p in the bazaar a couple years ago. I'm sure I'll find other things to use tailoring for though, I just don't know what yet. I'm the kind of person that enjoys the satisfaction of tradeskills even if I never get all that much in return for the effort. I'm also still learning a lot about the newer recipes and drops. Hard to believe I didn't know what an animal pelt was for just a few weeks ago.

I also have been working on my enchanter (the spell researcher). Since I don't have a lot of group support (yet), I am really mostly on my own for spells and spell research is very lucrative. Since the research skill up path needs temporary essences cast by the researcher, I went leveling. I picked an easy area with hot zone experience, and for me (level 46) that was City of Mist. (Re)learning how to handle my charmed pet, charm breaks, and adds has been an absolute blast. It's the polar opposite of playing a SK who can stop (feign death) on a whim. Charming means as long as I have a pet I can't leave for even 15 seconds. I love the intensity and challenge of charming - you never really know what might happen every second.
