Hello everyone,

I have played for going on 9 years and have seen many really good guilds come and go. Over the past 2-3 years specifically, I have seen many smaller guilds pop up and fewer and fewer large guilds. To my knowledge, I would say there are only 2-3 large guilds left. The guild requirements that are in place need to go. I could understand back in the day for requirements but honestly, are they needed anymore?

I would like to see some of the smaller guilds start merging to increase raiding opportunities for alot of folks. Folks that don't that lvl 85 with 2000 AA's, or folks that don't have 3-5 nights free to raid. With the addition of merc's, old timers are getting creative raiding zones the old fashion way to use merc healers because their current guild doesnt have "enough" key players to accomplish anything good. Just a thought.

I think more guild mergers would be a positive way to increase game play experience for the majority of the remaining population. What do you guys think?

In my opinion, guilds exist for a wide variety of reasons, raiding being (just) one of them. To get non-raiders into raiding shouldn't entail forming a raiding guild but forming a working network of people to organize raids across guild affiliation.

Unfortunately, there isn't an in game system or structure designed to facilitate open raid organization, but that doesn't stop someone from creating their own.

On my server in another game, someone created just this structure and organization and it works tremendously well. Anyone, guilded or not, geared or not, can sign up and join a scheduled raid.

The benefits are huge:

* allowing people to see content they never would
* making new friends
* getting gear upgrades that were previously unobtainable

The system only needs someone to facilitate and publicize it.

Anyone interested in more info can take a look at the FAQ and Intro sections of the Leftovers Raiding website here.

Disclaimer: I'm not personally involved with them, and I no longer subscribe to *cough* that game either.

On Bristlebane, there is http://ahraiding.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=index&sid=773cf894de32c5c92a8e57c7c0726806

We are doing MMM and early SoD raids. Anyone lv 80 and higher is able to app, reqs are 300 to 400 aa's to make member. Basically, folks stay in their guilds, and raid with us.

My guild is a family guild that raids twice a week and is MMM/Early SoD as well. Feel free to visit www.swordoffate.com and check it out.

Almost all raids are open to the general public, space permitting. As a family guild, we have absolutely no character requirements for apps. Our saying is "We guild the player, not the toon." If someone wants to get to know us and app, they're welcome. If they want to stay in their current guild and guest raid, that's fine too.

Guild mergers are difficult to manage because of various reasons, more so if you're trying to get family guilds to merge for raiding purposes. At least on Prexus, the opportunity is there to raid if you know where to look, even if you're not in a raiding guild.
