The Straydogs are a pack of people working to a common goal of beating raid encounters outside the normal guild framework. We generally raid on Saturdays and Sundays, starting at 5pm GMT, for about 3 hours.

Almost all serious raid encounters on 7th Hammer are conducted by the major guilds. Straydog raids are essentially pick-up raids with some long term structure to allow those who would not otherwise be able to raid higher end encounters to participate in this part of the game. Regular guild members are not discouraged from joining us. In reality, we NEED regular guild members to participate in these raids to increase the chances of success, and to allow us to tackle the more difficult content. However, please do not raid with us on those events where your guild is currently also raiding if there is any danger of you getting a lockout which would inconvenience the guild.

Our Current Aim is to complete 7 of the 60 raids that will qualify those completing them to access the raid loot from the Lady Vox and Lord Nagafen Raid Classic Encounters.

Initially, we judge the Solteris raid encounters to be the best way to accomplish our aim, and we will be concentrating on these. But other raids are also possible. Solteris requires pre-flagging before you can take part in a raid. If you need assistance to complete the Solteris pre-flagging group tasks, please send one of the pack-leaders named below a tell during the week for assistance

Raid Rules:

To join a Straydogs raid be online before the start time and send one of the Straydogs pack leaders a tell in the 20 minutes prior to the start.

You must be at least level 80 to join a Straydogs raid. All classes are welcome.

Apart from the minimum level, there is no barrier to joining a raid other than to be reasonably mature and never offensive to others.

The decision of the raid leader is always final on a raid; though rest assured we will do our best to make sure no silly decisions are made.

Loot on all raids is open to all mains who can use it on a random basis. The only exception being you cannot win more than one item on a raiding session unless it would otherwise rot. Mains are classed as the main character on the raid at the time; ie. If you have one character on the raid that one is your main, irrespective of whether that is normally your main. If you have 2 or more on a raid, you choose which one is the main.
When raiding solteris phosphite is considered free for all loot, while any stack of phosphene is considered as raid loot.

Straydog Packleaders are: Songseeker. Loviedovie, Hert, Oedi and Luithien

While not interested in joining your guild or server myself. I find it interesting the way you are attempting to promote yourselves and I do like to know what is going on in the game, even the aspects I don't pursue.

If you are going to update this thread every 1-2 weeks you might as well give it some greater detail (i.e., how big was your raid force that beat the Mayong Mistresses, any notable aspects of the event, etc.).

However, you run the risk of being rated down (Someone had done so your first post... I rated you up since I don't see real negatives or a problem with what you are doing) if you keep bumping your own posts back up. Also, some alla posters seem to dislike posts that link to guild boards -just putting the general guild web address in your signature probably solves that issue (for those that see it as one).

You might want to do you updates in the "weekend update" posts that generally happen every Monday such as This one since that would put your posts in a context where people look for "hey look at what I was doing lately" posts or ignore the thread entirely without getting upset about it existing.

Lately I have been the post-starter on Monday, but no reason anyone else can't take the mantle. 12:01 am Monday... it's a race!

I see nothing at all wrong with someone promoting organized PUG raids even if it is one particular server. In fact it is no more off topic than a 'weekend update' thread in many respects. We're definitely not at any risk of scrolling the forums with too many posts these days.

Unfortunately, I'm also not interested in moving servers at this time, but I do wish you luck on 7th Hammer.

I agree Samatman, just having noted the OP was getting rated down I figured I'd offer an alternative in case that bothered him/her.

we will now start raids 1 hour later than before, at 5pm gmt as edited in the original post. Feedback suggest that more people will attend with the new raid time.

From the evidence of the last 4 weeks with attempts, we are not able to attract enough intrest to be able to do the Straydogs concept of beating Solteris in a weekend.
So we will wait it out til after a month has passed with the new expansion.
At that time the lower sod targets will probably be freed up from guild commitments and we will try
to qualify for the classic dragon loot raids that way. We will get there, we just need to be patient about it.
Straydogs will still be able to help with many things the next 2 months. Post on our boards with what you need help with. Natural targets would be epic 2.0 orbs, 2 groups raids or other difficult missions in sod for group progression, and if enough intrest Bic raids.

Your guild's concept is intriguing. I encourage you to stick with it... you prove to have staying power with the concept I think you will become a server-institution.

I'll offer a real-life example:

Downtown of my city was always dead after 8:00 every night. Guy takes over old chinese restaurant and turns it into a pub. He was alone in the wilderness the first 3 years as it was dead most nights of the week, but okay on Friday & Saturday till around 11pm (enough to scrape by). He keeps it open till 2am anyways.

Theatre groups (i.e., the actors that just got off stage) and such start hanging out here later. People begin to trust that the place is actually going to be open if they show up after 11. People start to stay downtown or even come back downtown at night.

15 years later it is the hub of our downtown, with multiple other pubs/bars located near it. He takes over a large section of the sidewalk as a patio for half the year now (because he was so successful City Council basically had to go with the flow and let him do it). Our city's population has barely grown in this time --all the people were already there.

The constant has been this guy offers the environment he promised all along. He has alot of allies now.
