Sony downFollow

Today (8/20/09) it appears as if ALL of Sony is down. My EQ wouldn't start up so i tried to go to sony's websites to try and see if i could find out some information about whats going on. What i found was that even sony's websites were not coming up, even after "diagnose problem." I know it's not my internet too b/c everything eles works. I hope its still not like before where i have a high chance of loosing lvl's, pp, items, ect. lol

I would think that sony would have people to watch for this...maybe they having a massive problem (ex. hacker)

Hubby has 1 account that hasnt been logged off during the night, and he is still able to play....on his screen i see ppl in guild logging in and out with no problems at all.

Phoning the ISP just resulted in the answer to re-install antivirus + the game and/or the entire pc.....

yea i have 3 accounts that were on during night and 1 that was off (4 total) and they all cant get back on...i try restarting everything. Thanks for the tip =)

ok maybe i didnt unferstand you correctly (lol)...i restarted comp and tried to open EQ but it just stays at "Patching Everquest" for a while and then gets up to scanning before it says there is an error.
Help? lol

I am having the same problem, have rebooted and still get nothing at all from Sony, websites dont work and patcher has an error code that pops up. Any suggestions?

Ack :(

What i meant was, that 1 of hubby's accounts hasnt been logged off at all, thats why he can still play his toons on that one.

We both logged in fine after patch yesterday, but i logged off for the night, where he didnt....and now the only acc playable is the one that hasnt been logged off...

Sorry if i explained badly :(

Hey i have same problem.

I talked to my ISP and they say the problem lies at a ISP in the US called Level3

I got a friend from Iceland to post on EQtech board to see if they can help

Im from denmark and i searched some boards around. Another guy from Denmark had problem too. But was with SWG.

My guess is you 2 are from denmark too?

Denmark here aswell (gogo Aalborg). Guildies are having problems aswell and we have different providers... Guess we just have to wait it out as usual.

Im going away untill sunday myself in 2 hours so cant really be assed. But as far as i know the problem is on their side.

Hope its fixed on sunday tho :D And hopefully before for you guys hehe :D

yea i am in CT USA...i restarted comp, uded Nortan, ran things on my comp, and now i will try calling this link...as of now though, (11:13 am EST USA) EQ is still not up

Just called Level3 and they said since i am not with a company "There is zero we can do."

I called and said "IDK if this is the right place to call but Everquest and all of Sony is down and I was reading this thing that said to call you."

Oper.- "Are you with a company sir?"

Me- "No."

Oper.- "Ok, then there is zero we can do to help you sir. Have a good day."

So i guess we just have to wait till EQ comes back up >=(

I just thought...if i was with sony why would i be calling them anyway? And if i was with a different company, how could i effect them and sony? I have my own buisness, does that count? Its an LLC so technically i am with a company (lol)

Call Sony and complain. WE can't access THEIR service that WE are paying THEM for. THEY need to get on the phone and get this resolved.

BTW I could ping sony and the responded to a "whois" so it is not a connection problem... I am in New Hampshire.

I tried pinging patcher.everquest.com....worked fine too...but we still cant access anything that has to do with Sony :/

Forgot to add...a guildie from Denmark has no problems, so it's definetely only some of us danes who has problems
