Me and my family are comming back to EQ, The 4 of us are in the upper 60 not raid geared, mostly Defient gear. Were should we go to get some nice exp.
Were a little rusty so not too hard core zone LOL.

These are the current hotzones. I don't know the makeup of your group but 4 people should be able to handle Western Wastes with ease, try that out for a while to shake the rust off then try the ascent. If one of you is a slower then Icefall might even work but be aware the mobs have a lot of HP and hit pretty hard.
Pofire C1 (mobs are around lvl 65) and C2 (mobs are 68) are also good alternatives.

45: Eastern Wastes
50: Velketor's Labyrinth
55: Kael Drakkal

Icefall, definitely. Maybe get some tank mercs for extra DPS, or one tank one cleric so player cleric can do...whatever, lol.
As far as non-hotzones, maybe Wall of Slaughter, POFire, BOT, CODecay, probably some others. You got a good group there so I don't think any of those zones would be a problem. Mobs in Icefall gonna have more hp and hit harder than basically all those, so Icefall might not be the best exp/hour even if single mob exp is better. I solo in WOS with my 71 Monk + Merc and find it much better than Icefall cause mobs are much much easier.
