Hey All,
I am another returning player and I would like to relive the experience of leveling through the old world. I am bored with the express leveling in other games and I would like to see some of the old sites again. Which server has the best population of lower level characters?

This is always a tough question. Most of the time players tend to be prejudiced toward---or against---their own server and unless someone has played a lot on a bunch of different servers, it's always hard to be able to compare them, especially for starting out.
Stromm was the last new server added and it has a rep of being good for noobies but I levelled 2 toons to 73 on Stromm and my experience was that it was a good thing I had mercs to help me because I really didn't notice tons of low level players. I was able to make low-level groups but that's because I'm very vocal about wanting to group. Here's a tip: you will NOT have much luck at all finding groups if all you do is type /lfg. In fact, your luck will be miserable. Far better to announce periodically in general chat you're LFG. Much better to FORM A GROUP (even if it's just you and an alt, or you and a merc) and announce in general that you've got a group LFmore!
You know how in the LFG window there's a section for Groups LFMore? You know how that page is almost always empty? It's not empty when I play if my group isn't full. I USE that window; I wish others did.
My mains are on Saryrn. It's an "average" server. But if you wanna make a new toon on it, let me know (PM me here or email to sippin@hotmail.com.) I'd be happy to help you out.

I agree with Sippin...I play on FV and I make my own groups, also...so I never fail to find groups.
Send me a pm if you want and we can start at 1 together. I am alt-oholic, so would be happy to start over with you. I won't be in game till Monday ( going to Frisco for a memorial) but after that we can surely get together.

Over on Xegony stuff like this https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=17295 50pp! is dirt cheap. I roled a pally just to use this weapon. Currently im 55 2 AAs no defiant gear or merc. I'm having a blast slowly buildling this toon power. I rarely see any other toons in the zones I'm leveling in. Basically I'm playing the game as a single player game now days which is fine with me, EQ is a great single player game as well.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I am a contractor living in Kuwait currently so I had to have all my disks mailed to me from home, so they should be here by the weekend. Once I get everything installed I will probably create a couple of new toons and just get used to the game and interface again. I will take you guys up on your offers and message you when I am up and running.

Both Morden Rasp (which merged into Povar) and Maelin Starpyre (which merged with Vazaelle) were added after Stromm.
I think that the best new server for returning at level 1 is a server where you have friends who still play.
