With Fan Faire right around the corner we're extremely excited to see our community firsthand. Unfortunately, we know that a lot of you can't be there with us, but we're giving you the opportunity to ask SOE important questions, just like you would if you were there. So if you have a question about EverQuest, ask it below and we'll do our best to get it answered it during the event!

With the concept of EverQuest being an ongoing Questing game (hence the name) and all the expansions taken into consideration... Why can't the NPC in the guild lobby accept ALL items tagged Quest Item, or why can't EverQuest give us more bank space? They did it before on an expansion (give bank space), I'm sure they can do it again. It is not like they have to build a larger skyscraper in San Diego to hold a larger vault, just need bits of data is all. To even suggest that storage space for more items is anything close to building real buildings and such is nonsense. Storage devices in the past 10 years have gotten smaller and smaller - It wouldn't surprise me if a backup of every single toon and their items in the bank on all servers could be stored on a single device the size of a wallet nowadays, as opposed to how it would have been kept 10 years ago. We need more bank space badly... unless of course SOE doesn't want us to keep those quest items but they would rather us to just grind to level 85 the hack and slash way.

Bank Space is a huge issue for both personal and guild banks - often so bad it actually keeps people from enjoying all the content EQ has to offer. They removed the weight restriction from currency, so to tell me that there is limited space in Denton's bank vault is nonsense. Change the code if you have to in order to allow enough bank space for all your expansions. I don't know any main toon that wouldn't agree, bank space could use a little expanding. When people are making toons just to store stuff should be telling you guys something.

I don't believe the issue regarding bank space is related in any way to the amount of space available for data storage. I believe I read that it has to do with the coding and limitations that were set early on in the game's original development and successive expansions. Could it be changed? I'm sure, but the time and thus the cost associated with changing those specs aren't cost effective on SOE's end.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge proponent to adding more vault space. It's just ridiculous how many unfinished quest items I've gathered over the years and now, across three toons as well. Maybe I'm like many here, and just hate to throw stuff away that I think I'll eventually complete (despite the reward now being obsolete) but there were still enough hours invested into the quest that I want to see it to completion.

I think Tripodvi's suggestion of having more NPCs in the Guild Lobby (like Tavid Dennent) to hold quest items for a particular expansion would solve the issue of bank space. Perhaps this could be a suggestion you deliver for us. And while you're at it, maybe you can mention placing filters onto the guild bank that will allow the Officers and GL a little more control over what gets tossed in there.

Guys please ask specific questions in a typical question asking like fashion. This doesn't need to turn into a debate thread.

I suppose these are not so much questions as ideas, but...

I would like to see a Guild Spell Archive (deposit, log, roster, call it whatever you will) set up like a cross between the Guild Bank and the vendor screen, allowing guild members to deposit spells and tomes for withdrawl by other guild members with the appropriate tags, much as the Guild Bank is set up now. Sort by class, level, rank, etc.

For tradeskills, I'd like to see an auto-combine button, and/or a combine # button. Basic function: keep repeating the combine automatically until a component is out of stock, the combine is trivial, the number of combine attempts has been reached, or there is no longer room in the inventory to store the product(s). Behind the scenes function: keeping me from getting carpal tunnel for trying to max out all the tradeskills.

Extra shared bank slot(s). 'nuff said.

EDIT: Trying to think of some questions in a more question-like asking fashion...

When will you delete that stupid sham of a microtransaction scheme, Marketplace?

...and I think that's about it, actually.

Ok, question format then:

1. Are there any plans to increase bank storage
2. Are there any plans to add additional NPCs to hold quest items a'la SoD?

Was the placing of the Erudite statue in guild hall actually the intention for the reward?

(I know the guild "hall" was listed as the reward but isn't guild "LOBBY" not only a more fitting location but preferred? Was it a mistake or are you willing to admit it was a mistke to place it in guild hall as opposed to lobby or POK etc.?)

Thank you.

As for it helping with personal bank space, it is not FIXING the problem - in a way it is kind of exploiting or doing a run around what would appear to be the true purpose of a guild bank. Don't think Sony would suggest that, if they do, then they are suggesting to all the players to do a run around to get the job done.

Questions:

  • Can we get more regular bank space?
  • Can we get 1 more shared bank slot?
  • Can the guild bank space limites be increased?
  • Can Ogre plate classes please get better graphics? The fish net hose stockings is rather disconcerting.
  • Would a double experience weekend once a month be something you might consider to motivate people to play?
  • Will EQ introduce more AC augs for tanking classes and give up trying to issue melee classes these junk hp augs?
  • Are there plans for EverQuest to bring out another epic weapon that would stand above and beyond current group drop weapons?
  • There was talk in march or hints of having offline trader mode for the bazaar - When will this be implemented?
  • Why does it appear that little is being down about the RMT spammers in general chat and across server channels? Can they not be banned?
  • Will EQ revive tradeskills and bring out new recipes that are actually desired by levels and classes they were intended for?
  • Will you add port and translocation spells for SOD zones
  • When will EQ fix the issue with stat foods and stat drinks not giving the AC bonus listed on them?
  • Will the expansion Everquest Underfoot increase the level cap?

Can you give us bigger bank only bags? Say 20 slot bags, This would double our bank capacity. You could make them way too heavy to carry around. Or... Give us each an account bank like the Guild bank our characters can select items from. With possibly 5 - 10 slots for double Lore items. Just my 2 copper pieces.

Just because you didn’t think of it, makes an idea or action an “Exploit”.
There are a lot more actions players do while playing that are more harmful to the game or give an experience advantage.
Is using a Trader Satchel as a bag for storage in your bank slots and exploit? Its main use is to be used as a trader. Is it and exploit to for a Character, who really can not use a bow, to put one it their range slot because nothing they can really use equal the stats? How about the player who 2 boxes his accounts to gain experience and not deal with other players who would have to group to achieve what he is achieving an exploit?
It is still a lot of work to juggle items from one toon to another, I only own one account. Plus you never know when SoE will remove all inactive, low population guilds from a server. They have done it before. If you use 10 slot bags in your bank…that is a lot of lore items and if you have other characters on the same server with their banks full of 10 slot bags that is a lot of open slot space. What it takes is a little “EFFORT” which is not just a problem with EQ but with real life world. Every one wants everything with no effort or thought. Again just my opinion but I do not think creating a guild and using the bank to store items is an exploit, it is just creative.

Yeah, thanks for that. We've actually got two co-existing guilds that store goodies and numerous spell mules, bazaar mules etc. I think we'd like to see a fix to the solution rather than a work around since this just isn't the optimal way we'd like to see it work.

    Other Questions:
    1. Are there any plans for upcoming Server Merges?
    2. Are there plans to add future Merc classes to the game?

    1. I would like to see an EQ1 in-game NPC PawnShop. The Pawnbroker pays you a plat % based on the value of the item, you have X amount of days to buy it back or pay the "Pawn fees" to keep it in hock. If you don't buy it back the item becomes available for purchase from other players at a higher rate.
This is good for EQ commerce keeping the plat flowing in and out like the casino.

    2. I would like more items added to the shadowhaven Casino such as "augs" and actually useful items rather then stacks of lame stat food. The Casino is way overdue for a revamp.

    3. I would like to see "Guild storage lockers" on the second floor of the guild hall. Too much junk gets put in the guild bank, this will allow players to store tradeskill items etc due to lack of enough bank space.

    4. I would like to see static NPCs that for a fee, will cast ALL of the beneficial buffs players want. It stinks having to /ooc for certain buffs and sit and wait for 30+ minutes to get them just to be able to go adventure.

    5. Remove buff countdown timers in Non NPC-combat zones like the Bazaar, PoK, The Nexus. The Guild lobby is way to laggy and congested with players for that reason.

    6. Create player made bags that hold more then the 10 slot giant limit. 12, 14 slot bags etc.

    7. Add a GH portal stone for a direct port to The Arena & PoTranquility zones.

    8. Make a fighting game exclusive to the Sony PS3 like the new Street Fighter BUT with all of the EQ1 Gods & Bosses as the playable/unlockable fighters. Keep all of their lore intact etc. *Picture Mithaniel Marr fighting Pallorax etc. This will entice a whole new genre of player base to actually sign up for an EQ1 account while generating a ton of money for Sony and SoE.
Inside each PS3 game have SoE put in a free 30-day game card or something to advertise Everquest.

I hope some or all of these get suggested! =)

What are the plans for fixing the corrupt resist issue? I have still yet to find actual gear with the resist on it only augs.

Can we get the merc timers fixed? I see that it goes to random times when they are suspended.

These would be great, if we were asking for suggestions to pass a long. Unfortunately in this case, we're looking for questions. ;)

Not going to quote anyone but in general...

(a)More Bag Space(i.e. slots)....Not going to happen. Its coding and they wont consider it. Its been asked, answered, and posted. Quit looking dumb by asking a question they have already aswered more times than I care to count. Use EQtraders.com for a posting of the problem and answer. You can find another one on Sony's forums but EQTraders is stickied.

(b)Shared Bank/bigger bank...Believe they ansered this and its a memory issue on their side. Could be wrong has I have no links of where I read this information. Good question to ask if not answered somewhere else.

    Questions....

1)Seeing how coding is the thing now limiting EQ...Will they consider updating EQ (i.e. coding) and re-releasing EQ? The only way it looks to get past many of the problems of EQ is to start over from scratch to get around many of the bugs written in the current system. The framework is their, its the coding that needs to be re-tooled. EQ2 shows that it can be done (as a host of other ne MMO's) and can be done with a 1-2 year projection as the framework is there from EQ2. Actually can they just do a copy/paste of EQ2, change what needs to be changed(starting cities, NPC's, quests, ect....), and call it EQ?

    2) If your going to only push one expansion out a year, can you make alpha/beta testing an expansion longer (i.e. Testing to start by the players after Fan Fair)? The players seem to have a better grasp of testing the game and finding the bugs/exploits, naturally giving the coders longer to correct these problems and giving the game a more polished feel on release.

    3) GM's/Guides - Please look into giving these individuals more power and/or authourity? With plat spammers running rampant and the elusive GM never to be found, we need not only more GM's/guides but a presence on the server so that they aren't so fabled. Some may abuse this power/authority but not everyone and with the screening process already making more and more guides elusive, we need a counter balance.

    4) Can we make required level's on gear go the way of the Dodo bird? Sense the introduction of Rec/Req levels, the desire to rush to max level gets crazier every expansion. I don't dispute that this may unbalance the game for some (i.e. veterans) but these are the individuals who are going to rush to max level anyways, already able to obtain the gear. If they are able to stay lower level and teach (i.e. mentor lower levels) this may be a trade off because they have the gear and can use it.

Are there plans to decrease the amount of clicking for tradeskills. Like choosing the amount of combines and letting the system handle it?

Will there be another lvl up in November's expansion?

Is there an increase in tradeskill cap's planned?
