Hey guys, I'm considering coming back. I was wondering what gear would be good for starting out again as a Paladin and/or Shadow Knight, please keep gear under 10k. =p
defiant plate gear....can search for it here or lucy's to get an idea of the various sets and lvl requirements.

Looks good, any suggestions for the rest of the slots?
Lost Heirloom quests which involve Aiden Silverwing. After you gain some levels and more cash, new cultural jewelery is very nice, but will cost alot more than 10K for a full set of good stuff. If you're in a guild, you maybe able to get some the jewelry from guildies / guild bank, and is still descent with the cheaper Harmongate, and there are some other even cheaper stones that might still make them very useful. One thing I do at lower levels, is load up on DS and Regen gems, which you can buy or have made for practically nothing.

or just buy defiant jewelry from the merchant in POK. He's down near the crescent reach stone. Plenty good enough to get you going and back into the game.
There are no defiant knight type 1hs or 1hb weapons. https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=31322 is a very popular 1hs for knights. https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=29519 seems to be fairly common for sale in bazaar. Use whatever you can find for a deal until 55.

There are 32 various "defiant" 1 handed weapons for Shadow Knights, and 24 various "defiant" 1 handed weapons for Paladins. Search the bazaar with "defiant" in the item name field and you will find them. To search the bazaar and play around with search fields to limit your search for items currently available for sale type /bazaar
If nothing comes up, it just means none are currently for sale but keep checking back.
The NPCs jrmayii mentioned are Iason Yureska (Items 50+) and Keefe Stearns (Items 5-49). I missed these somehow, but the lower level stuff is fairly inexpensive, higher level definitely over your 10K budget.
To stay within budget, I usually look for trade-able bazaar items I can resell when I'm done with them for my lower level toons.

True knight weapons for 1hs and 1hb are pally and SK usable only. There base dmg is a lot higher due to the knight class not getting duel wield. Yes pally and SK can use a lot of defiant weapons, but you would be a lot better off with a knight weapon.

True knight weapons being only sk/pally? no true, I have quite a few 1 handed slashs and blunts that have all/all. If you are looking for sk/pally only you will need weapons from a expansion. Defiant was meant for everyone. Nothing special for anyone.
EDIT: I had some bizarro thoughts (not an uncommon event) when I first wrote this reply. But the link might still be usefull :D

What Balayan is saying is that, rather than seeking out Defiant weapons, Murdunk maybe be better off looking for PAL/SK only weapons which have stronger ratios and typically sell pretty cheap since they're class limited.
