I'm a shammy and since I only have one gate spell I was interested in the Gate AA. I was hoping that I could bind in PoK with one version and bind where I was currently leveling with the other. This would make banking and selling quick and easy when my bags get full. Well I got the Gate AA and it seems to be the same thing that I already have. Is my idea workable or is this a completely useless AA?
Your idea is workable if you play a Druid or Wizard and get the Secondary Recall AA and pay 104pp for a Stone of Marking to create a second bind point.
The Gate AA your Shaman has is working as intended and not useless. It lets you use a spell gem for something useful instead of having to keep the gate spell in your spell bar.

Ok, thanks for the info, I was just hoping it would be workable with a shammy. I have a druid and whenever I need to empty my bags, I bind close to where I'm leveling and use my ring of the nexus spell. It's nice to have the quick turnover and be right back in the game.
I remember farming Highkeep back in the day like that. Before I found out about the merchant hiding with the bard trader. :P
