What do you want most out of the next expantion for group content?
More Clickies (Ie Dodh Resist click, TBS Urn Quest ect) :3 (6.4%)

My write in for "Other"
I would like to see more “Epic” style equipment (all slots) Quests.
With parts having to have help with a small group, but doable mostly solo. And forcing the player to travel and explore the entire EQ world for class & level of the player. Different rewards per level groups…+ or – 10 per say. And can take what ever time the player has to finish just like epics.
Equipment / augments /weapons being complement with each other.
Example: Maybe a pair of boots having some great stats but with maybe some negative stats also so can only become 100% positive with another quested item.
Boots = positive on all stats but Magic = (-25) but (+35) Dex where a pair of leggings = (+35) Magic but (-25) Dex. Just an example but what one misses out on the other covers.
Add ground spawns, with hints to find by talking with NPC, in old world content.
With player or group having to kill certain Mobs that drop a hint to continue your quest. Having to beg or buy the use of another class or skill by a player to help with the quest. Running to one part of the EQ world only to find that you need to retrace your steps back. Explore parts of cities where you are not welcomed and having the need to buy potions to be able to fulfill that part of the task. The Possibility are vast. I believe that might spark some interest for the solo player who is not able to raid, and force people to communicate a little more with each other.

More xp spots for the non-uber people. Those of us who want to play the game but not get into the drama of a raiding guild. Been there, done that. WTB Xp Spot, pst!

LOL. I actually thought the opposite. An expansion that destroys all starting cities and makes one or two cities as central hubs (maybe they were destroyed long before the shattering.)

I do think we'll see another raid centric expansion (e.g., PoP or GoD) this time around. They both had good group content as well.

A combination of two of the choices: more dynamic content & more xp spots. I'd like to see more instanced xp zones (ala Dranik's Hollows/RCoD and LDoNs/DoNs but with no end goal or reward besides the xp).

revamped quest system that goes back and digs up all quests that ahve ever existed (and those that start but never finished) and complets them and updates them to todays quest journal. I would love to see an expansion completly dedicated to this,..... no increase in levels.... no more aa's....no new zones (except maby adding Instance zones).....just an entire expansion dedicated to furthering the storie of the game.. Also maby a revamp of merchants so that they scale the items in game for purcahse to be more relistic.. (based on fine steel, some magic items that drop off high end mobs or in high level zones are worth less.... merchants should have a system to caculate the level of mob that drops these items and the zones thyat item drops in for the cost they pay for them.. this would greatly help the economy of the game and gie old level zones/quests reason to be used or gone too... why go to old world zone or dungeon if nothing in there is worth going after... however if the items that drop are easy to get now but the merchants caculations make it profitable to sell them to a merchant it opens up many areas for players to go and dungeon delve again..... (ex: Befallen is a worhtless zone to almost everyone nowadays when it comes to loot.....nothing that drops in zone is used with todays global drops and the expansions that have followed have deemed all there items in that zone outdated.. and if you get them you get if at most 1 or 2 plat for any item in zone... even the lowest level magic items dont sell for as much as fine steel.. but if the merchants calcuated the levels of mobs and zone to reasonable amount (just ex...but lets say 200plat).. then you could justify running in and making quick 1 or 2 k for few minutes work and feel that you have accomplished something)... Wish the merchant system and quest system would be looked at seriously... it would greatly increase this games fun....

Anyway, the above point ignores the fact that there are multiple value systems active in the game. You're talking pure plat but beyond a certain level (or for a certain playstyle), plat is useless because there's nothing worth buying. BUT, many items retain value because of their TRIBUTE value. There are entire zones that are farmed strictly for tribute. Veksar is probably the most notorious but there are many others as well (won't list 'em in case any of you play on Fennin Smiley: tongue). But, because so many people are fixated on plat value (for valid reasons, I would guess), many times, there's no need to go farm for these things when you can get 200k tribute (cap for individual characters) for less than 5k plat.

So your suggestion would also mean the vendor would have to factor in the item's tribute value (or, the devs would have to go through every item in the game and reassign tribute values - that's never gonna happen). If I can sell an item for 1100pp to a vendor but get 13650 tribute from it, it's going to the tribute master.

How about an expansion that does NOT regurgitate old PoP, Discord or Mistmore BS. I would be very impressed to see content that was NEW, instead of the same old crap re-hashed. Instead of a formulaic "here's another 5 levels, 500 AAs, and the same mobs you've been killing for 5 years now (but with more hitpoints). SoF was a really good expansion in this respect with MMM, but guess what? The Sleeper gets uncerimoniously spewed forth into current content instead of remaining the legend he was.

Just venting.

i think we need graphical updates to player models the most. i'd be happy if Sony gave us minimal new play content, but upgraded the player models to something more like WoW's - not with big goofy shoulder pads but at least spikes coming off our armor, or straps hanging down or ridges and grooves that are visible and not clearly 2D lines drawn onto our platemail. i'd really like to see a way for user-submitted designs to make its way into the game, or have a choice of armor designs when purchasing gear from a vendor. they could have the same three designs drop randomly from current mobs. i suppose it would be difficult toying with the engine to allow for a more intricate look of the players, but after that, it would be easy putting the new armor design content into the database.

right now, my characters look as fearsome as a level 20's; only my weapons, and the red colour of the target box, convey my strength. i almost feel neutered. add to it that a level 10 character can have two auras going at once and have a familiar following him around...

I am ready and waiting for the Plane of Mischief! Anyone else miss that as much as I do? And I'm not talking about the multiple revamped versions of it, I mean the first one they introduced! I didnt care much for having to find that little dollhouse in the middle of deadly dragons way back in a cave...pass on that again! But, omg it was a blast and such a twist and change from any other zone! Those who haven't experienced it should get the chance to see it. /tapping my foot and waiting!

The vast majority of those 500 zones are garbage by current standards. So when asked if you want new food, you should just say "No thanks. I'll stick to eating this garbage"? Maybe if you're a goat, but surely not humans.

I think instanced zones/expeditions would be the way to go since they never "go out of style". Sure, better loot drops elsewhere, but for pure xp grinding with no muss and no fuss, instanced zones (like Dranik's Hollows, RCoD sewers, DoDh missions, etc) offer the best bang for the buck with a far slower obsolescence crawl. Dagnor's Cauldron sucks compared to Paludal Caverns and Paludal is less than ideal compared to Blightfire Moors (can't go straight to 35 solely in Paludal. Can in Blightfire). That's just one example. There are dozens of similar ones, which is why half the hotzones go largely ignored (because the zones suck and no one's going to go there for a little extra xp).

Content on demand works and it's cheap to boot!

I would like to see things like progression being able to be done as a solo not boxed or using merc's toon. Make it take very long time but make it do-able without top end gear only availale with raiding.
Its also about time that necro's got a proper rez spell without using ee's. The price of these if in the bazaar are a complete rip and its only boxers that make them as they can afford the xp loss.

Instead of creating more, let's fix what we have. For example, the now trivial 1.0's, let's fix the insane quests that are more difficult than the the 1.5 and 2.0's combined - as in time to complete. Drop rates and increased spawn rates for starters.

More exp-grind spots seem to be the winners in the poll this far, so instead of adding more zones and loot, increase grind spots in old forgotten zones with revamps like CT recently... Bravo on this as more of this type of minor revamp is needed thoughout the game. Alot or people love going to older zones and what better reward than to offer advancement in these forgotten places. Use what you have, instead of creating more of the same which causes more and more zones to become dead.

Just my 2 cents...

I would like to see the 1.0 epic quests doable by a single group at most. Sure, a group of 85s could probably power you through them now, but an at-level group would fail the raids.

CT was just an Anniversary event and changed back as of last night.
But I agree with you. There are plenty of Dead Ends in old zones that a “sudden, in game earthquake” opens a new passage. Just add a zone once every two to three months. We have to wait a year for a new expansion (SoE policy). But don’t tell anyone just implement the new zone in a patch and let people discover it. Even if someone stumbles on to it and doesn’t tell anyone, word will get out, trust me. But one of the great aspects to the old game was that of discovery & adventure. I remember Warrens was introduced this way and it was a lot of fun. On Zek, the poor step child of SoE, we don’t see GM events. I think this would help moral and enthusiasm with players. I am ignorant when it comes to other servers. Are there a lot of GM events on the other servers? If so I bet the News spreads fast on general chat and I believe there would to be an urgency to participate. If not I believe this would help spread, by word of mouth, the game of EQ and how exciting it is. Again it comes down to SoE’s commitment to the game. Is it worth marketing? With the economy in a down turn I feel that we will see more & more people looking to entertain themselves with minimal cost. EQ is $15 a month, 50cents a day; this is pretty inexpensive entertainment, at least for me. I just want to see more people participate. And whatever SoE needs to do, please do it. To praise them a bit, I have seen an up turn in population on Zek. Not as much as it could be. I do not think SoE used their 10th Anniversary to its full potential. But any positive in population is well appreciated.

I would like to have an option added where a person could redistribute their AA's. Even if there was a quest to have to do to unlock this or pay an NPC plat. Many of us made mistakes when initially assigned AA's and wish we could go back and fix that mistake. Probably being nitpicky but thats what I would like to see.

You are fully able to do this on test server. Not suggesting you up and /testcopy to test server, but you can reset it at will there.

I dont see this as likely for live servers though. Heh, seeing how theyre trying to change the busness model with microtransactions, "If" they would ever offer on a live server this it would probably be on a pay basis.

would like to see the old zones more (i like the idea making old zones revamped for newer contents) its like reintroduicing old EQ hehehe but with better mobs and lewts for the high end... and giving the new comers easy access on new gears from the old zones hehehe

and would like to see new race and class (im still dreaming of having a Cyborg raced and a shooter class -- so the ranger have an opposition on their range skill and having a cool lineage from the machines of SoF hehehe)

sorry but I still think making the 1.0 more harder to get than 1.5 or 2.0 is still a better idea. there is a reason why they call it an epic fight... and making it easy for anyone just to camp it in 1 day is not epic.

They definitley don't need 1.0s to be easier fights. They fights are blow off easy as it is. The only problem with 1.0s, is the rarity of spanws and/or drops. With today's gear, a 65, can mostly, if not completely solo (duo with merc) all of the 1.0s. Even years ago, by 70, most 1.0s were mostly solo-able. And there are pre-quests to flag you to do 1.5s, so no need to make them any easier.

For ease of use, do improvements to UI, and such functioning, not not the difficulty of mobs. With low population, even rare spawns and/or drops dont' seem that bad any more, since you don't have to fight for the camps.

Just my 2cp, on making things easier.

As far as new content. I like puzzles, quests, and riddles. They're all good, but not in excess, as an alternative to the normal grind. Strategically challenging events are always fun, especially the ones with multiple tactics that work, that the developers didn't see coming, but don't need to be nerfed 'cause the alternative is too easy or buggy or whatever.

SoD has seemed pretty weel balanced, although the long aug quests are starting to get old, with so many in SoF and now similarly with SoD. Some more shorter quests, with lessser rewards would of been nice. Maybe, they're there, but I haven't noticed any, other than with Chronobine rewards, and the like. I was referring to item rewards.
