Tho once you hit 76 or higher you will know what does "Hell level" mean.
I couldn't disagree more.
I did 54 and 59 pre-PoP when they were actual hell levels. There is not a single level in EQ that is as long as 59 was. Part of that is because they revamped the xp curve (back then, you mass killed blues for "the best xp") so ALL xp is faster now than it was then. There was no "sweet spot" (within 5 level window) then.
I've done 81-85, twice, and I'm doing it again (with an 82 cleric). Each level takes about two days of casual playing with a decent group fighting challenging mobs. Now, if you're fighting weak con animals, of course it's going to take longer. But 81-85 is yawn-worthy compared to real hell levels.
Hot zone xp can skew things for newer players. The one thing these newer players have to remember is that leveling is less than half the equation. You also need several hundred AA to be decently effective (depending on class, of course). So it's best to exploit those hot zones and roll up as many AA as you can before you move into a slower progression lane (i.e. a new level bracket). I have several characters who won't be leaving the 70s until they crack 1k AA for just that very reason.
