Is there a trick to getting this to work?

I have followed all instructions in the readme file and still no go.

Thanks.

Lucy Item Collector? Did you get the most recent WinPCap installed with it? Also, setting the correct network adapater is the only other usual problem with installations. Finally, you have to switch a toon, if EQ was already running before running it.

If none of this helps, might post what the collector says after you start it, and after you log into an EQ toon.

Here's what mine says when it starts, until I log into EQ:
EQ Item Collection Engine v 3.02 (31.7) starting up...
Username set to: Yther Ore
Profiles enabled.

listening on VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter
VIA Rhine II is my netwrok adapter that's connected to the internet. If you have a modem or multiple ethernet adapters, you may have to specify in your INI file which one to use. After logging into EQ, and a toon, it says after processing the characters inventory items:
Connecting to server...  (72.37.213.243:23183)
Connection established...

Hey Yther

Here is what I get when I start up collectore:

EQ Item Collection Engine v 3.02 (31.7) starting up...
Username set to: Fenladar
Profiles enabled.

listening on Realtek 10/100/1000 Ethernet NIC (Microsoft's Packet Scheduler) .

But once I log in I do not get the connecting to server message.

I do run 2 ethernet adapters and here's what my ini file says:

[General]
username=Fenladar
ifnum=2
autostart=1
profilepath=C:\Program Files\EQ Item Collector\profiles\
quietmode=0
promiscuous=0
startmin=1

Any other help you could provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Sounds like you need to select a different NIC (Network Interface Card). You do this, by going to Settings - Options, and it should list all of them, just select the correct one (or another one, if you're not sure), and hit Ok button.

Not sure how much it matters (since I haven't played on Test for years), but if you primarily play on Test server, you will probably want to check the Test Server check box in the above options window as well.

Hope this helps, if not, let me know.

Okay...

Item collector grabbed the info but at the end there's a message that reads:

"Warning: Player inventory with null profile."

It's working then. Always during Fabled, there is some kind of error, and it takes them a few days to get some kinks worked out (generally due to new item numbers that used to be void). Probably in a few days they'll have a patch that fixes that error. I had the error as well, just didn't post it, as it's normal for the Fableds time.

Grats on getting it working!

I still get this message:

"Warning: Player inventory with null profile."

Anybody know how to fix this?

Thanks

I still say it's a temporary bug, and at least this year, it's only the profile part. Previous years, it wouldn't even scan items after the first few.

If you want a profile now, you can use the in-game command /outputfile inventory filename.txt. I use each characters name for filename. It's put the file in the base everquest directory, and lists all items on that character, both worn, and in all inventory slots, including all bank slots, and the shared bank slots.

If you want an official answer. Try posting in this forum.

Sorry I couldn't be much more help on this part.

**** EDIT ****
Oh yea, if this wasn't fabled time, and you got some similar prfile error, I generally delete the itemcol.db file in the EQ Item Collector directory. It can get corrupted from time to time. However, it's doing this even with a fresh itemcol.db file, and not creating any new profiles.
