Need info on all game termsFollow

#1 Mar 08 2009 at 2:32 PM Rating: Decent
I have played for 8 years and left for 2. Upon my return I have found that there are many new terms I do not know the meaning of and am tired of asking and not getting a reply. I checked the getting started thread and that says very little on game terms used. Is there somewhere that list ALL the terms used in game from abbrv of zones to things like succor point or keyed, flagged, progression etc. Not all of us know what is being said.
Sorry to bother you but sometimes I feel like a n00b when ppl talk in game and wish to educate myself further.

EQ Glossary

Those cover most of the older terms.

Expansions:
  • RoK / Kurnar = Ruins of Kunark
  • SoV / Vel / Veliious = Scars of Velious
  • SoL / Luclin = Shadows of Luclin
  • PoP = Planes of Power
  • LoY = Legacy of Ykesha
  • LDoN = Lost Dungeons of Norrath
  • GoD = Gates of Discord
  • OoW = Omens of War
  • DoN = Dragons of Norrath
  • DoD / DoDh = Depths of Darkhollow
  • PoR = Prophecies of Ro
  • TSS = The Serpent's Spine
  • TBS = The Buried Sea
  • SoF = Secrets of Faydwer
  • SoD = Seeds of Destruction

Zones are more varied, and many zones use the same acronym. For example, BB can mean Blackburrow (Original, Revamped, or Old Blackburrow in SoD) or Butcherblock Mtns.

Some other terms used for locations, include the original game continent, i.e. Antonica, Faydwer, and Odus. Antonica is also split up on the in-game Atlas (Backspace - Atlas tab) into several sections, including: North East, North Central, North West, South West, and Sout East.

Many in-game maps (available from many sources, but the most commonly recommended source is Naofiend ) have the succor pts marked.

As far as bypassing keys, refer to Patch Notes for 4/17/08. For keying (although most, if not all, is level bypassed now, as far as zone entries, but not necessarily inner zone keys) refer to Keys, key quests, and flags.

As far as new expansions, see the Guides set of links to the left, and under Wikibase also to the left.

**** EDIT ****
Forgot to mention, the included user manuals explain many terms as well, that may not be included in the above links. These files are located in the base everquest directory and have manual in the file name. Most are PDFs, but the original ones are text files.

Found another good glossary
